Two people were flown by medical helicopter to a Tulsa hospital after a house fire Monday night.
According to the LeFlore County Sheriff's Department, the fire happened on Stewart Loop near Spiro at approximately 8:30 p.m. Two people were injured, a woman and a man who were found lying on the ground outside the home unconscious.
According to emergency crews on the scene, the woman was seriously burned and is in critical condition. The man suffered minor burns and smoke inhalation.
Blood drives are scheduled at three locations in the coming weeks, according to the Oklahoma Blood Institute.
Carl Albert State College are inviting Poteau-area residents 16 years or older* to donate blood from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, or 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 1507 S. McKenna.
Arkoma High School will host a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at 100 Blocker.
Blood donors will receive a free T-shirt, health screenings and Donor Rewards points, redeemable for merchandise in OBI’s online store.
