City OKs election dates, recycling plans

January 9, 2013

The Poteau City Council moved a step closer Monday to establishing a regional recycling recycling center here.
They also approved a resolution calling for city elections in April.
Members agreed to present three options on a building in the industrial park to the Choctaw Nation, which announced plans last month to open a hub for several collection sites already operating in the county. The options include lease, lease-purchase or purchase of the building.
Candidate filing period for the April 2 election will be Feb. 4-6.
