OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John D. Doak and the Medicare Assistance Program are alerting Oklahoma seniors to a new telephone scam. The warning comes after reports of scammers telling victims that the Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires them to gather personal information for a national medical card. But such a card does not exist.
The Hope Assistance Program can help you or a loved one with personal items such as adult briefs and diapers, bed pads, disposable gloves and similar items.
The KEDDO Area Agency on Aging is striving to close gaps of services in its planning service areas of Choctaw, Haskell, Latimer, LeFlore, McCurtain, Pittsburg and Pushmataha counties through “Hope Assistance” and other programs.
The LeFlore County Sheriff's Department seized an indoor marijuana growing operation that appeared to be expanding, according to Sheriff Rob Seale.
Seale said that, on Friday night, his deputies, along with agents of the District 16 Drug Task Force and officers of the Panama Police Department, served a search warrant on a home belonging to Steve Cox in the Tucker community. When officers entered the home, they discovered 36 marijuana plants growing inside a vacant bedroom. The plants were in various stages of growth.
