Judge orders Okla. pastor to trial on murder count

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A judge ordered the pastor of an Oklahoma City church to stand trial on a first-degree murder charge after hearing conflicting testimony from the dead man's wife and girlfriend.
Michael Elder, 53, is accused of shooting Gary Davidson, 27, last Feb. 20. Davidson was married to Elder's daughter April at the time.

Oklahoma doctor pleads guilty to Medicaid fraud

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — An Oklahoma City psychiatrist has pleaded guilty to a health care fraud charge.
Federal prosecutors announced Tuesday that 53-year-old Amar Nath Bhandry entered a guilty plea to defrauding the Medicaid program. He could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Bhandry is accused of submitting claims to Medicaid for reimbursement for services he allegedly did not provide. Prosecutors say he charged the program that provides health care to the poor for examinations of up to 50 minutes while seeing patients only 10 to 20 minutes.

Methodist Men donate to free clinic

According to Lee, this is the 25th year the Methodist Men's Organization has donated to the clinic. The proceeds are raised during the annual spring pancake breakfast held at the First United Methodist Church in Poteau.

4 Grove residents killed in 2 traffic crashes

GROVE, Okla. (AP) — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says four people from Grove were killed in two separate traffic crashes Tuesday night in northeastern Oklahoma.
The highway patrol says the first crash occurred at about 5:30 p.m. on State Highway 2 near Welch in Craig County. A preliminary report says 77-year-old Donald Charles Kelley and his wife, 76-year-old Nancy Kelley, died when their vehicle went off the road and overturned twice.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
