September 23, 2013

Wesley McDonald, a broadband technician for Suddenlink, prepares a hamburger for Rhett Sulser of Poteau as part of Suddenlink’s annual customer appreciation event. Customers were invited to come by the company’s Poteau office for free hamburgers and hotdogs on Monday. Also on hand for the event were Suddenlink plant manager Perry Miller (behind McDonald) and customer service representative Pamela Hammerton (not pictured).

Spiro FUMC to host car show and breakfast

September 23, 2013

The dictionary defines them as “a thin cake made of batter, poured on a hot, greased skillet and cooked on both sides until brown."
You may have called them griddle cakes, flapjacks, an excuse for lots of syrup — maybe even pancakes. Whatever you call them, they will be great breakfast eating on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Spiro First United Methodist Church.
And that's just the start of a fun- and food-filled day as the annual Car and Arts and Crafts Shows get underway.
