Education workshop coming to Poteau

November 7, 2014

The Oklahoma State Department of Education is offering a free, two-day, regional workshop in Poteau to support science teachers and school administrators as they transition to new Oklahoma Academic Standards for science.
The new standards were adopted by the State Board of Education and signed into rule by Gov. Mary Fallin this summer. They replace Priority Academic Student Skills science standards. State science assessments will not be aligned to these new standards, however, until 2016-2017 so that districts and teachers have time to transition.
