Emergency personnel respond to semi rollover

Emergency crews are responding [April 8 10:20 a.m.] to an accident with injuries on U.S. Highway 259 near Big Cedar.
According to dispatch information, a semi-trailer loaded with logs has rolled over onto its side.
It is unknown how many or how serious injuries are.

Unofficial results Jeff Shockley wins Mayor; Jim Seale wins Street Commissioner; Jim Sommers wins Ward 4, Seat 2; Monte Shockley II wins Ward 2, Seat 2. Waiting on other election results.

With nine of 10 precincts reporting as of 7:45 p.m. Jeff Shockley leads the Mayor's race, Jim Seale leads for Street Commissioner, Jim Sommers leads for Ward 4, Seat 2 Council Members and Monte Shockley II leads for Ward 2, Seat 2.

Municipal elections will be decided today [April 7] in several towns.
Polls will be open until 7 p.m.
Races include: Poteau Mayor, Poteau Street Commissioner, Poteau City Council — two seats; Talihina, Heavener, Wister, Cameron, Spiro, Panama, Pocola, Shady Point, Arkoma and Howe board of trustee seats.
Also tonight will be town elections held at the the area town halls in Cartersville, Rock Island and Fort Coffee.
