According to a report from the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission, Oklahoma's unemployment fell in January, shedding 0.2 percentage points over the month. Over the year, the state's unemployment rate dropped by 0.1 percent.

The LeFlore County District Attorney's office filed formal first degree murder charges on Tuesday against a Talihina man accused of setting his girlfriend on fire.
Donnie Lee Harris Jr., 29, of Talihina, has been incarcerated in the LeFlore County Detention Center since February 19 on the charge of first degree arson following an incident that left his girlfriend, Kristi Ferguson, 25, fighting for her life in an Oklahoma City burn unit.

The LeFlore County Sheriff's Department along with Bokoshe and Spiro Police Department s served a narcotics search warrant Tuesday morning at a residence on Sebo Lane east of Spiro. Two people were arrested in the drug raid after officers recovered 97 grams of methamphetamines, 217 grams of marijuana, 16 packages of K2 and two packages of 7H (version of K2). Also taken from the residence were three sets of digital scales and other illegal drug paraphernalia. Brian Steele, 32, and Kelli Thompson, 31, are both facing drug charges stemming from the drug raid.
