Opal J. Molton, 86, of
Poteau died Wednesday,
Sept. 7, 2011, in Poteau.
Opal was born June 1,
1925, in Wellington, Texas,
to William H. and Nannie
Rebecca (Barker) Gibbons.
She was a homemaker.
Opal was preceded in death by her husband,
Oscar Molton; sons, W.L. Molton
and Archie Molton; four sisters and four
brothers.
Survivors include her daughter, Annetta
Cortez of Poteau; son, Joe Molton of Shady
Point; eight grandchildren, Danny Andrews,
Niel Andrews, Jeffery Walker, Jody Molton,
Dawn Jones, William Molton, Micheal
Motlon, and Jamie Sample; 24 great-grandchildren;
Margie Billings, 79, formerly
of Poteau died Sept.
4, 2011, in Fort Smith, Ark.
She was born June 23,
1932, in Fort Smith to
Lewis LeRoy and Minnie
Evelyn (Pierce) Jackson. A
private family memorial
will be held at a later date.
Cremation services are
under the direction of Grace
Manor Funeral Home,
Poteau.

Floyd Matthew “Buddy” Keeney Jr., 61,
of Panama died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, in
Poteau.
Buddy was born Jan. 5, 1950. in
Marysville, Calif., to Floyd Matthew Sr.
and Jean D. (Dodson) Keeney.
Services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday,
Sept. 10, at First Baptist Church in Panama
with The Rev. Larry Harris officiating. Arrangements are
under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home,
Poteau.
William Ollar, 63, of Mena, Ark., died Sept. 2, 2011, in
Little Rock, Ark. He was born Feb. 25, 1948, in Hodgen.
A memorial service was held Monday, Sept. 5, at the
Dowden Funeral Home Chapel under the direction of
Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
Dorothy Ann Eagan Phillips, 76, of
Fanshawe died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, in
Waco, Texas.
Dorothy was born May 29, 1935, in
Henryetta to Sherman Thomas and Clara
Dorothy (Ramsey) Eagan. She moved to
Fanshawe in 1947 and graduated from
Fanshawe High School in 1953. Dorothy
worked as a homemaker and health care provider until she
retired and moved to Texas, where she stayed with her
children until her passing. Dorothy was preceded in death
by her parents; daughter, Donna Renee Phillips; sister,
Laura Elizabeth Eagan Cargill; brothers, Sherman Lee,
Don G. Loe, 87, of Heavener died Thursday, Sept. 1,
2011, in Heavener. He was born in Redwood City, Calif.,
but grew up in the Tacoma, Wash., and San Francisco Bay
area.
On March 21, 1941, he reported to the Naval Recruit
Center at San Diego. Upon completion of basic training,
he reported for duty in November 1941 on the heavy
cruiser USS Salt Lake City. He was on the water in a
motor launch when a Japanese plane opened fire, beginning
the attack at Pearl Harbor. He returned to the Salt
Lake City 11 days later and saw considerable action in a

Alfred C. Barnes, 63, of West Memphis, Ark., died
Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, in Meridian, Miss. Alfred was
born Jan. 10, 1948, in Monroe to A.C. and Retha (Mitchell)
Barnes. He was a funeral director/embalmer. He owned
and operated Delta Mortuary Service in West Memphis.
Alfred was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Jones.
Survivors include his wife, Debra of the home; three
sons, Michael Barnes of Little Rock, Ark., Keith Barnes of
West Memphis, Christopher Barnes of Hampton, N.H.;
one grandson; his parents, A.C. and Retha Barnes of
Judy Gayle Rice of Charleston, Ark.,
died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, in Alamosa,
Colo., from injuries suffered in a motorcycle
accident. She was born March 8,
1947, in Fort Smith to Theodore Williams
and Betty Jo (Beshears) Williams. She was
64.
Judy was a Health Records Service
Specialist for the North Logan Health Unit in Paris, Ark..
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9 at
Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston with The
Rev. Bill Van Meter officiating. Burial will be at Caulksville
Cemetery in Caulksville, Ark., under the direction of
Eula Maye Stivers, 90, of Del City died
Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, in Oklahoma
City. Maye was born Feb. 5, 1921, in
Leflore. She was the daughter of James
Franklin and Nannie Lou Borden.
She was preceded in death by her parents;
daughter, Sandra Pollard; brother,
Robert L. Borden; sisters, Ruth Mings,
Rubye Parks and Rilla Wyatt; grandson, Nathan Pollard.
Maye is survived by her daughter, Connie Stivers and
husband, John Nolen of Del City; granddaughter, Neile
Blackwell of Del City; grandson, Bryan Pollard and wife,
Deppa of Tahlequah; many loved nieces, nephews, and

Ronald Rogers, 63, of Poteau died June 15, 2011.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, Sept. 3, at 2 p.m.
at Old Bokoshe Cemetery under the direction of Evans
and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau.
