Ronald H. Sheetz, 75, of Spiro died Saturday Nov. 3, 2012. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, in Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home, Spiro. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
Frances Anne Cranfield, 70, of Heavener died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, in Poteau. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Forrester Baptist Church in Heavener. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home.
Melveena Louise Bates, 55, of Harrah was born Feb. 9, 1957, to Melford Wesley Weaver Sr. and Bernice Monks Weaver.
Vena grew up in Panama and graduated from high school there. She had lived in Ardmore.
She was a retired teacher. Vena liked to travel and fish. She was a loving wife, mother and friend to all people. She was preceded in death by her father.
Absent from the body is to be present with the Lord through his faith in Jesus Christ. On Nov. 3, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark., surrounded by his loving family, Raymond Eli Tomlin went to be with his Lord and Savior. He was born June 7, 1935, in Sacramento, Calif., to Lewis and Orthel (Brown) Tomlin.
 Raymond, 77, of Keota was a retired carpenter and rancher. He enjoyed restoring antique cars and spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jerry Edward Thompson, 68, of Cameron died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Jerry was born Aug. 26, 1944, in Poteau to Richard and Annie Velma (Gullick) Thompson. He worked for the local cable company for more than 42 years. After retiring he worked for Gentry Ranch. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, AJ, RC, Bud, and Wayne Thompson; sister, Amanda Thompson; and mother-in-law, Sylvia Heavener Brown.
Everett Lee McGuire, 57, of Panama was born March 8, 1955, in Tulsa and went to be with our heavenly father and Everett’s sister, Sissie, on Oct. 30, 2012.Â
Linda Sue Barnes, 67, of Cameron died Sunday, November 4, 2012 in Poteau. Linda was born Aug. 30, 1945, in Bishop, Va., to Benjamin Harold and Martha Jane (Mathena) Cunningham. She was a seamstress and worked for many years at the Western Shirt factory “Flyer Garment.” She was preceded in death by her parents and stepdaughter, Vanessa Barnes.
