Denver Ray Chronister, 83, of Wister died Monday, March 26, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 29, at Bethel Baptist Church in Wister. Burial will be inn San Bois Cemetery, Kinta, under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau.
A memorial for Harriet K. Coleman, formerly of Summerfield, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 31, at Evans and Miller Funeral Home in Poteau. Burial will be in Summerfield Cemetery under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau.
Sue Wortham, 86, of Broken Arrow, formerly of Spiro, died Sunday, March 25, 2012. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 30, at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel, Spiro. Burial will be in San Bois Cemetery, Kinta.
Jean E. Simkins, 85, of Conway, Ark., died March 25, 2012. Born April 19, 1926, in Malvern, Ark., she was the daughter of George R. and Amanda Thompson Britt. A member of Zion Baptist Church, she taught at Arkansas School for the Blind for over 20 years before retiring in 1987 then taught at the Mayflower School District for a number of years. She loved her grandchildren, church, reading and soap operas.
William Henry Thompson, 85, of Marietta, passed away peacefully in his home on March 26, 2012. A unique blend of sailor and rancher, his word was his bond. Bill’s outspoken personality and sense of humor are remembered by all who knew him.
