Alice Fay (Woolsey) Palmer, 60, of Fort Smith, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, in the Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel, Spiro.
Teresa Ann (Hudgens) Moody, 48, of Spiro died Friday, July 27, 2012. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, in the Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel, Spiro.
Juanita (Brown) Peters, 85, of Poteau died Friday, July 27, 2012, in Poteau.
Juanita was born Sept. 18, 1926, in Bengal. Juanita was a housewife and a LeFlore County tag agent. She loved to attend Poteau Pirate football and basketball games. Juanita truly loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy T. and Ida (Porter) Brown; husband, Bill Peters; brother, Guy L. Buddy Brown; sister, Wanda Austin; brother-in-law, Odie Peters; sister-in-law, Beverly Peters; Grandma and Grandpa.
Jane Hammond, 85, of Poteau died Sunday, July 29, 2012, in Poteau. Jane was born Sept. 14, 1926, in Springfield, Mo.
Vera Mecom Watson, 93, of Poteau passed to be with her Lord Monday, July 30, 2012, at Spiro Nursing Home. Born Jan. 13, 1919, she was the daughter of Jim and Alta Mecom. She married Marvin Watson Jan. 24, 1937. She was a retired seamstress of Hamlin Garment Factory in Poteau. She was a longtime member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church.

William C. “Bill” Shero, 86, of Wilburton, died Friday, July 27, 2012, at his home. Services were held Monday, July 30, at Centerpoint Baptist Church with burial in Centerpoint Cemetery under the direction of Waldrop Funeral Home, Wilburton.
Jane Hammond, 85, of Poteau died Sunday, July 29, 2012, in Poteau. Services will take place at 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Poteau with Rev. Kyle Clark officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home, Poteau.
Travis Frizzell, 73, of the Zoe community, died Saturday, July 28, 2012, at his home. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, with Rosary at 7 p.m. in the Dowden Funeral Home Chapel, Heavener.
Violet Lucille Covey, 77, of Panama died Monday July 30, 2012, in Panama.
Violet was born Aug. 8, 1934, in Strang to J.L. and Gertie (Sales) Lowery. Violet was a chamber member of the Poteau Valley Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and loved flowers and gardening.

Samantha Sue Shockey, 39, of Hackett, Ark., died Tuesday, July 17, 2012. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28, at New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home, Spiro.
