Darla Renee Trammell, 41, of Lewisville, Texas, formerly of Heavener, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, in Lewisville. Darla was born May 1, 1971 in Dumas, Texas, to Joe and Janice (Kiefer) Trammell. She was an accountant. She was a graduate of Carl Albert State College in Poteau and Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. Darla was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Ada Trammell, Loten and Sarah Kiefer; cousins, Noah Laurent, Mandy and Robyn Simmons, Traci Trammell-Hudson.
Thomas Clifton “T.C.” Fortner, 86, of Monroe, died July 28, 2012, in Poteau. T.C. was born July 6, 1926, in Monroe to Thomas and Leona “Lona” (Anderson) Fortner. He was an insurance adjuster. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Clara Murphree and Jerry Miller; and two brothers, V.I. and Edward Fortner.Â
Survivors include his wife, Doris Fortner; two sons, Larry and Tommy Fortner; four grandchildren, Amy, Shayne, Jason, Christy; and seven great-grandchildren, Lexxi, Dalton, Dillan, Destiney, Dawson, Tucker and Payton.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Florence King, 83, of Talihina died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, in Little Rock, Ark. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Talihina Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Fuller officiating. Burial will be in the Old Talihina Cemetery.
Floralla “Granny” Jean Johnico, 74, of Shady Point died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, in Tulsa. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at Jesus Name Pentecostal Church in Shady Point with Rev. J.L. Qualls officiating. Burial will be in Royal Oak Cemetery in Poker Bend under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau.
