Eunice Farrell Underwood, 85, of Spiro died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel, Spiro, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Panama. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
Jewell Earls, 84, of Wister died Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, in Wister.Â Jewell was born June 2, 1928, in Glendale Bottoms to James and Alice (Ollar) Luman.Â She was a homemaker, a loving mother to her family, a kind and gracious aunt to her nieces and nephews and a kind person to friends and loved ones.
Jewell was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Virgil A. Earls; four brothers, Cleo Luman, Hack Luman, Hershel Luman and Harland Luman; two sisters, Dean Pilgrim and Elsie Heflin.
Glenda Ann Richardson, 58, of Spiro died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, at Murry Spur Free Will Baptist Church under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home, Spiro.
V.J. Sampson, 60, of Thackerville died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, in Ardmore.
Sampson was born June 29, 1952, in Edmond to O.C. and Mildred Ann (Scivally).
A resident of Love County most of his life, Sampson attended Thackerville High School. He and Judith Faye Wimberly were married Jan. 20, 1972, in Addington Bend. His hobbies included attending auctions, buying, selling, trading; however, his favorite pastime was spoiling the grandchildren. He was of the Christian faith.
Ronald Lee Hunt, 74, of Panama died Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, in Tulsa.Â Ron was born May 30, 1938, in Albany, Calif., to Atlee Fulmer and Ethel Mae (Towne) Hunt.Â He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Marines.Â Ron was the security captain at AES.Â He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert Hill; and daughter, Fay Daffron.
Stanford Lee Stephens, 82, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, in Del City. Stanford was born in Panama on July 4, 1930, to Melvin Lee and Florence (Mosco) Stephens.
Stan grew up in eastern Oklahoma where he loved to fish, hunt and play cards. Later in life he moved to California and spent many years there with relatives and friends. He returned to Oklahoma in 1999 and had lived in Choctaw with his sister, Betty, since then.
Stan is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mildred Kaczyk; one niece, Merry Ogletree; and one nephew, Stephen L. Coyle.
Gail Morrison, 76, of Poteau died Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, in Poteau.Â Gail was born Aug. 4, 1936, in Red Oak to Alvin and Ila B. (McAlester) Ramer.Â She was an LPN. Gail was a member of Summerfield Baptist Church and attended Trinity Baptist Church in Poteau.Â She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Alfred McGowen; husband, Elva L. Morrison; and three brothers, Norval Ramer, Billy Ramer and Johnny McGowen.Â She liked to cook, shop, travel and take care of people.Â Gail loved her family.
William Elijah Lyon, affectionately dubbed Liam, was born Feb. 18, 2011, at 3:25 a.m. to Whitney and Brody Lyon in Fort Smith, Ark. He was a perfect size, weighing 6 pounds and measuring 19 inches long.Â
Liam was quickly diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome and in the short time that Liam was here, he changed the world we live in.Â His story of love and courage crossed borders and continents as he traveled to various hospitals across the country in an effort to save his life.Â He has touched the lives of tens of thousands on his Facebook page, I Love Liam Lyon.
Martha Sue (Thompson) Cullers, 58, of Heavener died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, in Heavener.
A memorial services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, at Kirk Cemetery in Cauthron, Ark., under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home, Heavener.
Elizabeth Ewalt, 46, of Poteau died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, in Poteau. No services are planned at this time, according to Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau.
