James “Boots” Irvin Benson, 86, of Heavener died Sunday, Sept .23, 2012, in Heavener.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at First Assembly of God church in Heavener under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home.
Elizabeth “Denise” Rogodzinski, 53, of Poteau died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, in Poteau. Denise was born Oct. 5, 1958 in Clarksville, AR to J.C. and Theresa (Ward) Douglas. She was a retail associate at Walmart for 35 years; and a business owner in Poteau for 13 years.

Debra Lois Franklin, 56, of Big Cedar died Sept. 22, 2012,in Wilburton.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at New Home Cemetery in Big Cedar with Pastor Ed Rogers officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Brumley Funeral Home in Broken Bow.
Vance E. Gildersleeve of Poteau departed this life on July 23, 2012, and transitioned into the arms of our Savior Jesus Christ.
He was born in Stewartsville, Minn., on May 22, 1919, to Leslie and Ethel (Proctor) Gildersleeve. He was baptized April 10, 1955, into the Christian faith at the First Baptist Church of Redwood City, Calif., by Pastor Rowland T. Edgeworth and later affirmed his baptismal faith in the Zion Lutheran Church of Santa Rosa, Calif., on April 30, 1967. He was an elder with Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Fort Smith, Ark.

Dana Paul Williams, 57, of Midland, Ark., died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012. No service is scheduled. The family will visit with friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home, Spiro.
Charlene Smith, 68, of Spiro died Monday, Sept. 24, 2012. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro.
David Louis Mann, 72, of Poteau died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, in Poteau. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau, is handling arrangements.
Barbara Jane Lashley, 77, of Keota died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at Unity Baptist Church in Keota under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home, Stigler.
Darlene Kay Petrofsky, 65, of Poteau died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, in Poteau
She was born Feb. 20, 1947, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Reuben and Hazel Johnson. She attended Spiro Freewill Baptist Church, she loved gardening, crafts and antiques. She loved her family and her dog Candy. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters Janet, Sandra Foster and Joyce Hupe.
Daniel A. Hengl Vierra, 46, of Poteau died Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, in Poteau.
Daniel was born Aug. 5, 1966, in San Diego, Calif., to Fred and Alma (Vierra) Hengl. He operated a forklift for OK Foods. Daniel was preceded in death by his mother; grandmother, Alice Leonard, and sister, Jamie Byrne.
