James Daniel “Dan” Falkner, 62, of Panama, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark.
He was born Dec. 31, 1949, in Panama to Elmer and Dym (Brown) Falkner. He was a college instructor. Dan worked 20 years at Panama High School, 10 years at Roland High School and four years at Carl Albert State College.Â
He is preceded in death by his father and two sisters, Joyce Fife and Ann Howard.
Geraldine Flanagan Hebert, 89, of Poteau went to be with the Lord on Feb. 15, 2012. She has been a faithful Christian since her youth.
Geraldine was born May 11, 1922, at Tarby, near Poteau. She was the daughter of the late Jim and Vera Flanagan, the wife of the late Harold S. Hebert, and a sister to the late James (Bubba) Flanagan. She is also preceded in death by son, Kenny Hebert.
Kent Alan Doyle, 24, of Poteau died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark.
Kent was born March 25, 1987, in Fort Smith to Steve and Rebekah (Grose) Doyle. Kent was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Poteau. He enjoyed being with his family and taking road trips. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing. He loved watching movies and cartoons and listening to music. Kent was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Sherman Grose and Cindy Orqco, and paternal grandfather, Rayford Doyle.Â
James “Jock” Faulkenberry, 81, of Howe died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at Garland Cemetery, Stigler, under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home, Heavener.
Wanda Ritchey, 94, of Talihina died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at OSU Medical Center in Tulsa.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, at Faith Pentecostal Church, Talihina. Burial will be at the Old Talihina Cemetery under the direction of Talihina Funeral Home.
Jimmie Maxine Morris, 74, of Wister died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at Summerfield Church of Christ. Burial will be in Summerfield Cemetery under the direction of Evans and Miler Funeral Home, Poteau.

Wilburt “Leon” Ballew, 72, of Red Oak died Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, in Wilburton.
He was born Sept. 3, 1939, in Okmulgee to Wilburt and Nina Mae (Rinehart) Ballew. He was an automobile mechanic.
 He is preceded in death by his parents.

Edith Smedley, 83, of Poteau died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, in San Angelo, Texas.
Edith was born Aug. 31, 1928, in Kansas City, Mo., to Charles Harper and Eula L. (Deaton) Smedley. Edith was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her her parents, a brother and a sister.
Survivors include her sister, Mercedith Greenwood of San Angelo; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Lenna Smedley of San Angelo; and other relatives and loved ones.
James P. “Jack” Martindale, 89, formerly of Howe, died Feb. 8, 2012, in Houston, Texas. He was born July 5, 1922, at Kinta, to Perry L. and Madge (Ritter) Martindale. He was a retired painting contractor.
 He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Veneice; a daughter, Marilyn Prescott; a son, Bobby Martindale; one brother and two sisters.
 Jack is survived by two sons, David and wife Karen Martindale of Houston, Jimmy Wayne and wife Jackie Martindale of Rockford, Ill; a son-in-law, Don Prescott, of Pasadena, Texas; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Â
Frank Lee Nunley, 71, of Spiro died Feb. 7, 2012, in Cancun, Mexico.
He was born Nov. 4, 1940, at Panama to William and Agnes (Bice) Nunley. Frank was a retired barber, a 33rd Degree Mason and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Sevier; daughter, Sherry Welker; and a brother, Robert Nunley.
