CL Williams, 84, of Reichert died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at Dowden Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener with burial in Reichert Cemetery.
Mike Jandayan, 76, of Howe died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, in Howe. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at Dowden Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener. Burial will be in the U.S. National Cemetery in Arvin, Calif.
Irene Carrier, 82, of Spiro died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark. Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at Spiro City Cemetery under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Spiro.
Mary Louise Barnes, 67, of Panama died Jan. 2, 2013, in Panama. No service will be held at this time. Grace Manor Funeral Home, Poteau, is handling arrangements.
Melba Robbins Clunn, 77, of Wagoner died Jan. 4, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ada Robbins, and husband, Jim W. Clunn.
She is survived by children, Randall and Terri Clunn of Sapulpa, Michael Clunn of Sardis, Jimmie and Vicki Clunn of Wagoner, and Ramona Buckner of Poteau; one brother, Eugene Robbins; two aunts, Christine Jordan and Jean Clunn; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Sardis Community Center, Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, and are being handled by Clayton Funeral Home.
Alice Faye Weaver, 68, of Poteau died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, in Poteau. Alice was born Nov. 12, 1944, in Monroe to James Calvin and Dovie Melvina (Faulkenberry) McKenzie. She was a homemaker. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, James; and nephew, Shawn Kersh.
Mourine (Plumlee) Gentry, 82, was born Jan. 19, 1930, at Meeker to J.E. and Callie Plumlee. Mourine began her eternal life on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013. She had eight brothers and one sister. She attended first grade in a one-room schoolhouse at Union Point then attended second grade at Musson School near Shawnee. From third to eighth grade, Mourine attended Ferguson County School. She graduated from Butner High School in 1948.
James Newton Smith, 77, of Pocola died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark.
Private family services will be held at a later date under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home.
Glenda M. Sisson, 69, of Poteau died Jan. 6, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark. She was born April 1, 1943, in Thackerville to O.C. and Mildred (Scivally) Sampson. She was a foster parent, homemaker and loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Robert W. Sisson; three brothers, Virgil Sampson, V.J. Sampson and James Sampson; a brother-in-law, Chance West; a daughter-in-law, Sherry Langston; and parents-in-law, Robert and Margie Sisson
Launa Belle Turner of Poteau died Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark. She was born Jan. 19, 1934, in Bokoshe to Jacob Louis and Ola Belle (Peerson) Cloud. She was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and devoted Jehovah’s Witness.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doyle Gene Turner; two sons, Danny Gene Turner and Timothy Wesley Turner; two brothers; a sister; and a great-grandson.
