Henry Lee Creech

Henry Lee Creech Jr., 63 of Colcord died Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at his home. Henry was born Dec. 18, 1949, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a retired chief of police and a retired U.S. Army solider. Henry is survived by his wife, Barbara Creech, and children Kim Hanson, Kim Creech, Suzanne Anderson, Joyce Creech, Teresa Harnage, Jennifer McDaniel, Roberta Alldis and Damian Creech. He also has 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Henry will missed by the community he served well as mayor.

Mary Helen Jobe Anderson, 92, of Poteau died July 16, 2013. She was born on Sept. 29, 1920, in Covington, Tenn., to John Samuel and Lucille Campbell Jobe, the third of six children.

Luellen Overstreet, 101, of Spiro died Friday, July 26, 2013. Graveside services were held Monday, July 29, at Spiro City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.

Ben Dickerson Williamson, 80, of Smithville died Wednesday, July 24, 2013 in Smithville. Services will be held at Panther Creek Christian Church in Watson. Burial will be in Panther Creek Cemetery under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home, Heavener.

Steve “Bubba” Carter, 62, died July 24, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark. Services will be held at Community Bible Church of Fort Smith, 9201 S. Dallas St., at 11 a.m. Monday, July 29. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Fort Smith.
Viewing will be at Evans and Miller Funeral Home in Poteau until Sunday afternoon. Family visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Fentress Funeral Home, Fort Smith. 

Martha Belle (Bramlett) Hardin

Martha Belle (Bramlett) Hardin of Oklahoma City died July 23, 2013. She was born Dec. 7, 1940, in Poteau to Ellis and Margie Belle Bramlett. Martha graduated from Poteau High School as tri-valedictorian in 1959 and Oklahoma State University with a degree in home economics education in 1962 and a master’s degree in clothing, textiles, and merchandising in 1968. She later earned an Early Childhood Certification at the University of Central Oklahoma.

Mary Arletta Hall, 89, of Albany, Ore, formerly of Panama, died Friday, July 19, 2013. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery.

Scott Selby, 43, of Fort Smith, Ark., died Monday, July 22, 2013, in Fort Smith.
Scott was born on Dec. 27, 1969, in Little Rock, Ark. He was an administrative manager.  
Scott is survived by son,, Aiden Selby of Panama; daughter Alex Selby of Panama; two brothers, Wayne Williams of Cabot, Ark. and Mike Williams of Bald Knob, Ark.; a sister, Christie Bentz of Benton, Ark.; parents, Jim and Barbara Williams of Steamboat, Colo.; father, Harold Selby of North Little Rock, Ark.; and brother, Todd Selby of North Little Rock.

Joseph “JB” James, 89, of Broken Arrow died Friday, July 19, 2013. Services were held Tuesday at Hayhurst Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Arrow. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ark.
