Aaron Daniel â€śDanieâ€ť Byous Jr., 67 of Poteau died Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, in Fort Smith, Ark.Â Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at Cross Community Church.Â Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Evans and Miller Funeral Home.
Levi L. Easton, 87, of Cameron died Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, in Fort Smith, Ark.
John William â€śBoâ€ť Metzker, 65, of Heavener died Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, in Fayetteville, Ark.
Bo was born Oct. 2, 1948, in Poteau to John and Oma Lee (Ward) Metzker.
Bo was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Metzker, A.J. and Oma Lee Reynolds; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Aaron and Lila Standridge; sister, Patsy Johnson.
Elizabeth Ruth Dunn Martin, 30, of Howe died Sept. 20, 2014, in Oklahoma City. She was born Aug. 9, 1984, in Conway, Ark., to Rickey and Susan (Ruble) Dunn. She delighted in caring for her family as a homemaker and was so full of life and vitality.
Katherine Crabtree, 53, of Albion died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2014, in Tulsa.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, at Albion First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Albion Cemetery under the direction of Burkhart Funeral Service of Talihina.
Wesley Eugene Hogue, 74, of Heavener died Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, in Heavener. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at Jehovahâ€™s Witness Kingdom Hall on U.S. 112 east of Poteau under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Vera Sims, 89, of Springdale, Ark., died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014, in Springdale. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, in Memorial Park Cemetery in Heavener under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home.
Geneva Lee Warren, 91, of Poteau died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014, in Poteau.Â
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at Evans and Miller Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Jim Cook officiating.Â Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Fred Humphreys, 93, of Whitesboro died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014, at the Oklahoma Veteranâ€™s Center in Talihina.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Whitesboro Cemetery under directon of Burkhart Funeral Service of Talihina.
Cloyis W. Clay, 84, of Poteau died Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, in Poteau.
Cloyis was born Sept, 24, 1929, in Gilmore to Vernon and Beulah (Day) Clay. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where was awarded the CIB (Combat Infantry Badge), Army Occupation Medal (Japan), Korean Service Medal with Bronze Star and UN Service Medal. Cloyis was an educator-principal. Cloyis loved to hunt. He was a great gardener, grafting trees. He was very proud of his grandson who is pursuing a PhD. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Troy Riddle; and niece, Debbie Mudd.
