Jack Worley, 75, of Cameron died Tuesday, April 22, 2014, in Fort Smith, Ark.Â Â
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau. Family visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Evans and Miller Funeral Home.
Paul Lowther, 80, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at his home in Oklahoma City.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26, at Muse Baptist Church. Burial will be in Muse Cemetery under the direction of Burkhart Funeral Service, Talihina
Barbara Louise Cheshier, 74, of Pocola died Thursday, April 24, 2014, in Fort Smith, Ark.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26, at Cavanaugh Free Will Baptist Church in Fort Smith. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in Prague Cemetery, Prague.Â Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. at Evans and Miller Funeral Home in Pocola.
Linda Binns, 70, of Coaldale, Ark., died Wednesday, April 23, 2014, in Fort Smith, Ark.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26, at Coaldale Baptist Church. Burial will be in Coaldale Cemetery.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home, Heavener.
Isabella Grace Davidson, infant, died Thursday, April 10, 2014, in Fort Smith, Ark. A private, graveside service was held Saturday, April 19, at Spiro City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
John Dixon Self, 79, of Poteau died Saturday, April 19, 2014, in Fort Smith, Ark. John was born Feb. 5, 1935, in Shawnee to Clyde G. and Marjorie (Dixon) Self. He was drilling superintendent for Nicklos Drilling Co. of Houston. John was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Charlotte Pate of Sallisaw.Â
Trudy Black, 89 went to be with the Lord on March 19, 2014.
She was born in Fort Worth, Texas, Nov. 25, 1924, one of nine children born to Maude and Alvin Elmore Snider.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Noel P. Black; son, Phillip James Black; parents; sisters, Evelyn Hanks of San Angelo, Texas, Rubye Ferguson of Mustang. Flois Kingsley of Sperry, Lois Schuelein of Oklahoma City; brothers: Floyd Snider of Oklahoma City and Joe Snider of Snyder, Texas.
Omer Lee Adams, 83, of Caddo, formerly of Poteau died Tuesday, April 15, 2014, in Caddo. Omer Lee was born Oct. 30, 1930, in Wister to Truman and Vangie (Hawkins) Adams. He was a mechanic. Omer Lee was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dema; daughter, Becky; brothers, Howard and Denver; sister, Laverne Moran.
Survivors include his daughter, Cassie Stafford of Caddo; grandson, Kody Blaylock of San Diego, Calif.; sisters, Lucille Mote of Wilburton and Lorene Upchurch of Edmond; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
Betty (Deaton) Nichols, 80, of Poteau died Wednesday, April 16, 2014, in Fort Smith, Ark. Betty was born June 21, 1933, in Poteau to Bill and Blanche Deaton. Betty graduated from the University of Arkansas with a BS in education. She was a retired science teacher of 22 years. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church, Poteau. She was honored as Poteau and Regional Teacher of the Year, Teacher of Excellence, inducted into the Oklahoma Science and Engineering Science Fair Hall of Fame and a member of DKG International Society.
Barbara Valentine Montgomery, 43, of Red Oak passed away Friday, April 11, 2014. Barbara was born July 20, 1970, in Denver City, Texas, to Johnny R. and Connie J. (Burdick) Byrd.
Robert Joe Montgomery, 54, of Red Oak passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014. Robert was born Aug. 31, 1959, in Wilburton to Francis M. and Billie (Revis) Montgomery.
