Dr. Robert Lee Hampton was born on Jan. 16, 1930, to Roy and Winnifred (Sory) Hampton in Dallas. He grew up in Texas with two sisters, one brother, and one half-brother. When he was 14 years old, his mother died of tetanus and the family was devastated.Â However, they pulled together, accepted more responsibility, and remained loving and caring individuals.Â

Jo Tom Howard, 82, of Pocola died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, in Pocola.Â Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 6, at Trinity Baptist Church, Pocola.Â Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Pocola.
Daymon Humphreys, 89, of Muse died Friday, June 29, 2012, at his home. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 6, at Muse Cemetery under the direction of Talihina Funeral Home.
Ruby Jane Weideman, 63, of Poteau died Monday July 2, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark.Â Ruby was born Nov. 9, 1948, in Shattuck to Jay Fred and Ruby (Ellis) Marran.Â She was a housewife.Â Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Jay L. and Rodney Marran; and granddaughter, Ariel Bozarth.
David Earl Griffith Sr., 80, died Monday, July 2, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark.Â Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 5, at the Oakland Cemetery Pavilion, Poteau, under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home.
Mildred P. Alexander, 92, of Spiro died Saturday, June 30, 2012. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, in the Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro.
Dr. Robert Lee Hampton, 82, of Shady Point died Tuesday, June 26, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark.Â Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 7, at the Poteau Church of Christ, under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau.
Daisy Mae Green, infant daughter of Tommy and Mary Louise (Readman) Green, died Thursday, June 28, 2012, in Tulsa.Â She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Karen Mitchell and great grandfather, Dud Lightfoot.Â
Daisy is survived by her parents of Spiro; sisters, Vanessa and Dominique Green of Spiro; grandparents, Judy and James Crabtree of Sallisaw; great grandmother, Dora Frisbee of California; numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 1, at Keota Cemetery with Rev. Don Steele officiating.
Gail Hobbs Moore, formerly of Poteau and Tulsa, died on May 19, 2012, in Valley Park, Mo. She was 92.Â She was born Aug. 8, 1919, in Russellville, Ark., where she attended high school.Â She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, James Robert â€śJimmyâ€ť Moore, who died in 1965.Â Gail and Jimmy spent many happy years in Poteau and were active in The First Methodist Church and in school activities with their five children. Gail was also preceded in death by her mother, Norma Campbell Hobbs; father, Earl Roberts Hobbs; sister, Harriette Hobbs Pattie; and brother, George Hall Hobbs.
