Jackie Wayne Dinger, 70, of De Queen, Ark., died Thursday, May 17, 2012, at his home.
He was born Dec. 11, 1941, in De Queen.Â He was retired from the U.S. Army.
Â Dinger was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Eula Smith Dinger; two brothers, Frank Dinger and Bobby Dinger; and two sisters, Peggy Deer and Evelyn Hill.
William â€śBillyâ€ť Ray McClary, 53, of Panama died Wednesday, May 16, 2012, in Tulsa.
Billy was born Nov. 21, 1958, in Altus to William Paul and Myrna Joyce Sutton McClary.
Billy was a member of the First Step of Faith Church in Poteau. He loved old cars and motorcycles.
He is survived by his wife, Joy of the home; mother, Myrna Joyce (McClary) Kinney of Panama; an aunt, Delores â€śDodyâ€ť Stewart of Panama; several cousins and many friends
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, at Mallory-Martin Chapel of Spiro with Rev. Leon Glenn officiating.
Lula Mae Myers, 94, of Poteau died Friday, May 18, 2012, in Poteau.
Lula ws born July 31, 1917, to Clarence and Nellie (Pate) Shrum in Hartford, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Neal Myers; son, Jackie Neal Myers; and grandson, Ricky Neal Myers; her parents,Â three brothers and one sister.Â
Lula was an elementary teacher for 30 years, pianist, teacher and Vacation Bible School Director at church, a member of the Poteau Church of the Nazarene.Â She was an active participant of Compassionate Ministries through music at the Oaks Healthcare Center.Â
Shane Derrick â€śDocâ€ť Owens, 30, formerly of Shady Point died Thursday, May 10, 2012, in Orlando, Fla.
Shane was born Dec. 3, 1981, in Hyden, Ky.Â
He was a paramedic in Orlando, an Iraq war veteran and a medic in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Paige Breanne Underwood, 16, of Shady Point died Thursday, May 17, 2012, in Calhoun as a result of an auto accident.Â Paige was born Oct. 3, 1995, in Tupelo, Miss., to Jerry Jr. and Melissa K. (Bradley) Underwood.Â She was a student at Poteau High School; a National Honor Society Student, Secretary of the FFA and on the varsity Soccer Team. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmothers, Brenda Underwood and Harriett June Holcomb.
Shane Derrick â€śDocâ€ť Owens, 30, formerly of Shady Point died Thursday, May 10, 2012, in Orlando, Fla.Â Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 21, at Fort Smith National Cemetery, Fort Smith, Ark., under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau.
Beatrice Baugh, 81, of Talihina died Monday, May 14, 2012, at her home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 18, at Whitesboro Assembly of God with Carrol Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will be in Whitesboro Cemetery under the direction of Talihina Funeral Home.
Katy Cunningham, 51, of Harrison, Ark., died Monday, May 14, 2012, in Harrison. She was born Jan. 13, 1961, in Little Rock, Ark., to Charles Copeland and Freda (Ballard) Copeland.Â She was a facility provisioner for Windstream.
Anna Mae Smedley, 48, of Howe died Saturday, May 12, 2012, in Tulsa. Anna was born July 25, 1963, in Glendale, Ariz., to James and Emma (Caskey) Maxie.Â She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.
Â Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Joe Attaway of Victoria, Texas, Sarah and Scott Martin of Poteau, Shannon Smedley and Matt Jamison of Long; grandson, Taylor Attaway; other relatives and loved ones; many beloved friends.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19, at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, with Rev. Jim Cook officiating.
Charles Richard â€śDickâ€ť Bruesch, 85, of Heavener reached the clearing at the end of his path on May 15, 2012, in Heavener.Â He was born Dec. 31, 1926, at Edmond, to Frank and Minnie (Azlin) Bruesch.Â Â He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard serving in WW II, signing up for the duration right after Pearl Harbor.Â He was a cattle rancher, poultry farmer and welder by trade.Â He was loved and will be missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
