Shirley Blankenship, 78, of Spiro died Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, in Fort Smith, Ark. Services were held Monday at Spiro First Baptist Church. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
Oliver Ronald Johnson, 69, of Poteau died Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, in Poteau. Ronnie was born Feb. 2, 1946, in Poteau.
He owned and operated Ronâ€™s Diesel in Cameron. He worked for Mack Trucks in Fort Smith, Ark., for more than 35 years. He was a deacon at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Poteau. He loved to work and take care of his family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Edythe Rorie; Uncle Edgar and Aunt Mabel Rorie who raised him; and brothers, Jo Ed Johnson and Gary Tommy Corbin.
Faith Watson, 55, of Talihina died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015, at her home.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, at Goodsprings Methodist Cemetery under the direction of Burkhart Funeral Service, Talihina.
Hugh Foster Standifer, 67, of Talihina died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, at home. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Cupco Cemetery under the direction of Burkhart Funeral Service, Talihina.
Tommy Lipe, 64, of Tulsa, formerly of Spring Creek, Ark., died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, in Tulsa. Graveside services were held Monday, Feb. 2, in Old Bokoshe Cemetery under the direction of Mooreâ€™s Eastlawn Funeral Service, Tulsa.
Olen Wesley Heflin, 82, of Wister died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, in Fort Smith, Ark.
Olen was born April 22, 1932, in Wister to Henry J. and Agnes (Kiefer) Heflin. He was retired from the Forestry Service. Olen was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Wesley Heflin; brothers, Elzie, Novel, Toney, Cecil, George and James Heflin; sisters, Elvey Vaughn, Gladys Easton and Cleo Queen.
Ione Rudean Davis Hammon, 85, of Poteau went home to meet Jesus on Jan. 29, 2015, in Poteau.
Ione was born Sept. 12, 1929, in Spiro to Robert and Ella (Goins) Crenshaw. She was a lifetime member of the Calvary (formerly Polk Creek) Assembly of God Church where she sang in a trio, quartet and choir for many years.
Olen Wesley Heflin, 82, of Wister died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, in Fort Smith, Ark. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, at First Baptist Church in Wister with burial in Maxey Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Evans and Miller Funeral Home in Poteau.
Donna Elliott, 60, of Cameron died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, in Fort Smith, Ark.
She was born April 18, 1954, at Kansas City, Kan., to Lee L. and Dorothy G. (Bennett) Shannon. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Donna was foremost a homemaker, however she had many talents and had worked in a variety of jobs over the years.
She was a dental assistant, the friendly face who checked you out at M&M Garden Center and she worked for the OSU Extension Service, to name a few. She was a member of Eastern Star, Belle Point Quilt Guild and OHCE.
David Alan Hall, 41, of Wister died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, in Tulsa.
No service is scheduled at this time. Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau is handling arrangements.Â
