Linda Diane Dudley, 65, of Heavener died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, in Fort Smith, Ark.
No services are planned. Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Betty Jean Claunts, 81, of Cameron died Monday, Sept. 8, 2014, in Cameron.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with burial in Oakland Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Evans and Miller Funeral Home.
Maureen May, 91, of the Haw Creek community died Sept. 7, 2014, in Poteau.
Maureen was born April 20, 1923, in Page to James and Mary (Jackson) Brown.Â
Maureen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Junior May; two sisters, Mozelle Johnson and Bonnie Gillham; and one brother, J.T. Brown; and a, granddaughter, Stephanie May. She was raised and lived in the Haw Creek Community all of her life and was a member of the Big Creek Baptist Church. Maureenâ€™s life was dedicated to her family and church. She loved spending time with her children, gardening and quilting.
Florence Mozelle Plummer, 89, of Poteau died Monday, Sept. 08, 2014 in Poteau. Mozelle was born Nov. 29, 1924, in Memphis, Texas, to O.W. â€śBootsâ€ť and Lois (White) Wise. She was owner-operator of Busterâ€™s Buffet.Â
William Floyd â€śBillâ€ť Taylor, 65, of Poteau died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, in Poteau.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8, in Evans Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Jim Cook officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau.
Family visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Evans and Miller Funeral Home.
Bessie Smith, 85, of Panama died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, in Poteau,
Bessie was born Aug. 5, 1929, in Poteau to Roosevelt and Chloe (Brown) Oliver.
Bessie was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Joe Fitzer; her second husband, Bill Smith; an infant son, Bobby Fitzer; three brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by three daughters, Brenda Cook and husband Charles, Joy Moore and husband Don, Chloe House and husband Patrick; stepson, Joe M. Daniel and wife Donnell; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.Â
Hazel Opal Hetherington, 99, of Poteau, formerly of Panama died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, in Sallisaw.
Anna Mae â€śTootieâ€ť Alfred, 87, of Poteau died Aug. 29, 2014, in Tulsa. Tootie was preceded in death by her husband, James Alfred of Poteau; her parents, Steve Sr. and Letha Garrett of Poteau; sister, Alma Taylor of Wilburton and brother, Steve Garrett Jr. of Poteau. Tootie, a lifetime resident of Poteau, was a homemaker. She was known for her beautiful table settings, her apricot brandy cake and her dependability when a friend was sick. Tootie loved a cold beer on a hot day, a good tenor voice and the Oklahoma Sooners. Her family celebrates her long, independent life.
Gerald Dee Wilson, 77, of Poteau died Aug. 29, 2014, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was born Sept. 23, 1936 in Red Oak to James Howard and Bertha Lucille (Montgomery) Wilson. He was retired from Whirlpool Corp.
Gerald was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Cleo Wilson; two daughters, Laura Wilson and Joyce Mirus; four brothers James Wilson, Leonard Wilson, Joe Wilson and Bob Wilson
Allen Lynn Kinsey, 57, of Howe, died Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, in Poteau. Allen was born Feb. 2, 1957, in Poteau to Abe and Billie Dean (Ladd) Kinsey. Allen was a beloved father, husband, brother and son; born and raised in Poteau. He worked most of his life as an oilfield driller and was an exceptional mechanic. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, James â€śJimâ€ť Kinsey.
