Bill Bevins Carroll, 48, of Wister died Monday, Dec.22, 2014, in Wister. Bill was born Aug. 6, 1966, in Poteau. Bill worked at Baldor.
Friends and family knew him as â€śLittle Billy.â€ť We all have happy memories of Billy that we hold dear to our hearts.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Brittany Nichols and Jesse Loomis of Wister; grandson, Aidan Loomis; parents, Jack and Judy Holderfield of Kinta; companion, Sheri Leavitt; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
William â€śBillâ€ť McWhirter, 86, of Spiro died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014.
Services will be held at noon Wednesday, Dec. 31, at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro with burial at 2 p.m. in the National Cemetery at Fort Smith, Ark.
Freddie Don Fulmer, 67, of Pocola died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, in Pocola.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Evans Memorial Chapel, Pocola, with burial at 1 p.m, in the National Cemetery at Fort Smith, Ark. Family visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Pocola.
Marilyn Jean (Sheets) Johnston, 79, formerly of Poteau peacefully entered into the presence of the Lord Jesus on Dec. 24, 2014, in Sapulpa.
Marilyn was born Dec. 2, 1935, in Alva to M.R. â€śRexâ€ť Sheets and Grace (Korn) Sheets. Moving to Woodward, in 1946, she was raised and received most of her education there, graduating from Woodward High School. In 1954, She married Gary Johnston in Woodward. They moved to Poteau in 1962. During 24 years of marriage, three daughters were born.
Dr. Omer Joe Looper peacefully passed away Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, surrounded by his family.
Joe was born Jan. 7, 1927, to Omer and Blanche Looper in Poteau. He attended The University of Georgia, University of Oklahoma and ultimately attained a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Kansas City University of Osteopathic Medicine. Joe practiced family medicine in Heavener and Miami for many years. Joe was a Navy veteran, member of the American Legion, Lionâ€™s Club and past president of the Oklahoma Osteopathic Medical Association.
William Walker Rogers, 95, of Claremore died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at New Hope Cemetery, Spiro. Viewing will be from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
Ricky Clyde Jernigan, 62, of Poteau died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, in Oklahoma City.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, at the First Free Will Baptist Church, Poteau. Burial will be in Summerfield Cemetery under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home.
Salud â€śSallyâ€ť James, 94, of Poteau died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, in Poteau.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, at Evans and Miller Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with burial in James Cemetery at Calhoun. Family visitation will be at 2 p.m. before the service.
Hulan Arville Mosley Jr., 70, of Cameron died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, in Fort Smith, Ark.
Hulan was born Nov. 28, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas, to Hulan A. Sr. and Christine M. (Boatman) Mosley. He worked for more than 30 years with the Union Pacific Railroad. Hulan enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
James C. â€śJ.C.â€ť Holton, 77, of Poteau died Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, in Pocola.
