Brooklyn Leann Chance, 9 of Spiro died Monday, July 1, 2013. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 6 in the Mallory-Martin Funeral Home chapel.

Johnnie Joe Dorey

Johnnie Joe Dorey, 95, of Poteau died Wednesday, July 3, 2013, in Poteau. Johnnie was born Aug. 8, 1917, in Poteau to Otha and Emma (White) Johnson. She was a homemaker. Johnnie was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Wilferd “Buster” Dorey Jr.; her parents; six sisters, Grace Marler, Elenor Dorey, Elise Welch, Emma Jean Hanley, Syble Neff, Billie Dean Stock; and brothers, Bud Johnson and Tommy Allen Johnson. Johnnie was the oldest senior member of Pleasant Valley Free Will Baptist Church. She was a preacher’s wife for more than 30 years. Johnnie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother.

Sam Hutchison, 88, of Poteau died Tuesday, July 2, 2013, in Talihina. Wilmer Samuel Hutchison was born Jan. 8, 1925, in Cameron to Wilmer and Abby (Carpenter) Hutchison. Sam was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a mechanic. Sam was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Leona Hutchison; his parents; brothers, William “Landis,” Bobby and Vernon Hutchison; and sister, Laura Gaither.

Tru Victor Harding

Tru Victor Harding went to be with his savior on June 18, 2013. He was born March 5, 1998, in Davis, Calif.
He is survived by his sister, Taylor N’Cole Harding; brother, Tre’ Danel Harding; father, the Rev. Harry Louis “Lou” Harding Jr.; and mother, Jacqueline “Paige” Muse-Harding of Phoenix, Ariz.; grandfather, Jay W. “PaPa” Muse; grandmother Ruby Nell “MeMaw” Muse of Heavener; and many aunts, uncles and friends. Tru will be truly missed until we see him at the Throne of God.

James Mabry

The Rev. James Mabry, formerly of Fairview, died Monday, July 1, 2013, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. He was 89.
James was born April 1, 1924, to Florence and Eric Emory Mabry in Hughes. He served in World War II as a merchant seaman. 
James met and married his soul mate, Yoshiko Kanashiro on March 19, 1953, in Yokohama, Japan.

V. Michael ‘Mike’ Reynolds

Graveside services were held Monday, July 1, at Page Cemetery under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home.

Cleo L. Bowen, 91, of Poteau died Monday, July 1, 2013, in Pocola.
Cleo was born May 29, 1922, to Sam and Donnie (Tolbert) McElhaney. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Poteau. Cleo was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Omer Bowen; son, Cleave Bowen; brother, Oscar McElhaney; sisters, Norma Flippo, Zola Hendrix, and Veda McElhaney.

Wayne ‘Spider’ Webb

Wayne “Spider” Webb, 73, of Poteau died Sunday, June 30, 2013. Spider was born Jan. 27, 1940, in Tarby Community to John D. and Ruth (Sherfield) Webb. He was owner/operator of Spider Webb Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep Dealership until 2003 and Spider Webb Farm Implements in Poteau and Fort Smith, currently the John Deere dealership. Spider was a veteran of the Oklahoma National Guard. He was an avid supporter of the community and contributed to many causes throughout the area over the years, including his personal favorite, the LeFlore County Youth Services Angel Tree.
