Brenda Kay Whitecotton Conway, 62, of Keota died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, in Fort Smith, Ark. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at the Assembly of God Church in Bokoshe. Burial will be in Milton Cemetery, Milton, under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau.
Shirley Jean Neff, 61, of Wister died Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, in Wister.
Shirley was born in Poteau on Nov. 21, 1950, to Paul and Rachel (Kelley) Nichols. She was preceded in death by her mother; sister, Paulette Nichols; and husband, Joe Neff.
Jesse Carl Long, known as Jess to his friends, was born on January 14, 1922, in Wynnewood to Carl and Ethel (Fennell) Long. Jesse died Dec. 13, 2011, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was preceded in death by three wives and his only sister, Lorraine Cerkoff. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Jesse was a retired truck driver.
He is survived by his nieces, Charlene Wassman, Lorraine Helf and Suzanne Case, and a nephew, Robert Cerkoff, all of San Jose, Calif.

Shirley Jean Sumpter Adams Ford, 58, of Wister died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, in Wister. Shirley was born Jan. 17, 1953, in Fanshawe to Jay and Loeta (Wilson) Sumpter. She was a homemaker. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Jackie Sumpter Lucas.

Andy Odell Ollar, 52, of Howe died Thursday Dec. 29, 2011, in Poteau. Services are pending with Dowden Funeral Home, Heavener.
Betty Jean Filipski, 67, formerly of Whitesboro died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at her home in Blanchard.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Prairie Grove Baptist Church in Talihina. Burial will be in Whitesboro Cemetery under the direction of Talihina Funeral Home.
Linda Scraper Smith, 69, of Poteau died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, in Fort Smith, Ark. Services will be held at noon Saturday, Dec. 31, graveside in Saratoga Springs Cemetery, South West City, Mo., under the direction of Heath-Griffith Funeral Home, Tulsa.
Barbara B. Gildersleeve, of Poteau died Friday, Dec. 23, 2011. She was born in Laurel, Neb., on July 23, 1921, to Harvey and Viola (Woodruff) Bessire. She was a homemaker and member of the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fort Smith, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Maida Fast.
