Billy Gene Huie

Billy Gene Huie, 66, of Heavener died Dec. 24, 2011, in Muskogee. He was born Dec. 29, 1944, in Heavener to Emmit and Avielda Mae (Cooker) Huie. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and a brakeman for the Kansas City Southern Railroad.
Billy is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Judith Huie of the home; a son, John Huie of Omaha, Neb.; a daughter Lee Huie of Muskogee; three grandchildren, Summer, Erin and Aly Huie; and other family members.  
Cremation services are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home, Poteau. Burial will follow at a later date.

Troyce Dees Tanner, 80, of Fort Worth, Texas, formerly of Poteau, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, graveside at Greenwood Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Notice provided by Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau.

Hannah Rae Lovett, infant daughter of Joshua Micah and Tessa Dawn (Powell) Lovett died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, in McCurtain.
Hannah was born Nov. 22 in Poteau. She was preceded in death by her great-grandmothers, Oteka Bryant and Arlene Branson, and great-grandfather, Bodie Powell.

Wade D. Wells, 89, of McAlester died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, in Mallory Chapel under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home, Stigler.

Jo Anne Boone, 64, of Spiro died Monday, Dec. 26, 2011. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Spiro. Burial will be at Spiro City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.

Nancy Lynn Day, 51 of Summerfield died Sunday Dec. 25, 2011, in Fort Smith, Ark.
Nancy was born Dec. 25, 1960, in Huntington, Calif., to Jim and Joy Day. She was preceded in death by her father and her grandparents.
She is survived by her mother of Summerfield; two sons, Michael Kubiak and William Day; two sisters, Deborah Retting and husband Ronald of Keller, Texas, and Janet Robinett and husband Mel of Celina, Texas; two grandchildren; and her dear friend, Jim Berngen of Poteau.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at Dowden Funeral Home Chapel.

Algra B. Tackett

Algra B. Tackett, 89, of Poteau died Monday, Dec. 26, 2011, in Poteau.
Algra was born June 2, 1922, in Berlin, Okla., to Doc and Margaret (Clanton) Barfield. She was a homemaker. Algra was a restaurant owner. She was a member at Latham Assembly of God Church, a charter member of the Green Country Jamboree and a member of the Red Hat Society. Algra was preceded in death by her parents, Doc and Margaret (Clanton) Barfield; husband, Arlie H. Tackett; and sons, Richard and Stuart Tackett.

Eugene Wheeler, 92, died Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, in Durant. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29 at First Presbyterian Church in Durant. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the New Talihina Cemetery under the direction of Talihina Funeral Home.
