Clarence Lee âTomâ Hudlow, 55, of Leflore died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, in Tulsa. Tom was born Sept. 7, 1957, in Poteau to James âBoâ and Maudie G. (Grissom) Hudlow. He was a truck driver. Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Maudie G. (Grissom) Hudlow; grandson, Tyler Hamilton; brother, Baby Hudlow; and nephews, Johnathon Hudlow.
Mary Irene Nobles of Poteau died Feb. 14, 2013, in Poteau. She was born June 22, 1930, in Booneville, Ark., to Robert and Nellie (Moore) Phillips. She was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dedicated member of First Baptist Church, Poteau.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Ray Phillips, Clarence Phillips, Roy Phillips and Argie Phillips.
Calvin Phillip Hopcraft, 88, of Poteau died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2103, in Fort Smith, Ark. Calvin was born Nov. 1, 1924, in Mansfield, Mass., to Walter and Gertrude (Warner) Hopcraft. He was a petroleum engineer. Calvin was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Hopcraft; son, Barton Hopcraft; five brothers and three sisters. Calvin was very involved with the ââsack-lunchââ program at St. Johnâs Episcopal Church in Fort Smith. The program was very near and dear to his heart.
Loy J. Dobbins, 93, of Poteau died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, in Poteau. Loy was born July 30, 1919, in Dadeville, Mo., to Ormal and Eliza (Brotherton) Dobbins. Loy graduated from Dadeville High School and the University of Missouri. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Loy married Gertrude Frank July 3, 1959, in Tulsa. He worked at Guaranty Abstract Co. in Tulsa before moving to Poteau in 1971. In Poteau he worked for Logan Abstract Co. and ultimately retired from the Department of Human Services in 1988.
Carroll Lynn Sutton, 55, of Coweta died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013. Services will be held at at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery.
C.A. Overstreet, 93, of Keota died Monday. Jan. 28, 2013.
Services are planned for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Stigler.
Terry Dean Childers, 51, of Pocola died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, in Pocola. Terry was born Oct. 7, 1961, in Fort Smith, Ark., to James Harold and Norma Lee (Chaffin) Childers. He was a truck driver and mechanic. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Maurice and Dovie Chaffin, Cecil and Addie Childers; and nephew, Harold âRedâ Brown. Our brother, our best friend and our handyman for anything or anybody, he was always there to lend a helping hand. He was a good man with a big heart and he loved his family dearly. He will be dearly missed.
Stephanie Lynn (Morris) Haynes, a champion barrel racer, a beautiful rich center of her family and stranger to no one, relinquished this world Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at Sparks Hospital in Fort Smith, Ark.
Mary went to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of January 28, 2013 at home in the presence of her husband of 52 years, Robert (Bob) White. She fought a hard fight against leukemia. The family is so thankful for the nurses at the infusion center, at Stillwater Medical Center, as well as Dr. Terry Brown and nurse Rickae, along with Dr. Koya and all of her friends at the infusion center, St. Francis and St. John hospitals in Tulsa, who gave her such good care in her last 20 months.
Ella Mae Hamilton, 91, of Flower Hill died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, in the Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro. Burial will be in Old Cache Cemetery.
