Joshua Lee Lail, 35, of Heavener died Jan. 4, 2014, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was born March 24, 1978, in Pauls Valley to Calvin Wayne and Geneva (Hearon) Lail. He was a salvage yard laborer.
Joshua is preceded in death by his father Calvin Wayne Lail.
He is survived by his son, Trever Lee Lail of Heavener; parents, John and Geneva Janway of Howe; brothers, Jacob Janway of Howe, Aaron Janway of Howe, Daniel Lail of Dumas, Texas; sisters, Amanda Janway of Howe and Courtney Janway of Howe; girlfriend Diane Mitchell of Heavener; and many more family members, friends and loved ones.
Wayne Davis, born Feb. 27, 1937, in Thornberry, Texas, died Saturday, Jan. 4, in Decatur, Texas.
As a college athlete Wayne played basketball and baseball at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. He is still ranked seventh overall for average scoring in a single season 1958/59. After graduating with a history degree he completed officer training school in Fort Eustes, Va., where he became a captain in the U.S. Army Transportation Corps. Following the military he played semi-professional basketball for the Dallas Drillers. In their 1960-1961 season they were undefeated.
Brilynn Avery Martinez, infant daughter of Christopher Wayne and Nichole Destiny (Robinson) Martinez, passed away Jan. 1, 2014, in Poteau. Brilynn was born Oct. 7, 2013, in Poteau. She was preceded in death by her great grandparents, Lorene Pearson, Elizabeth May Fuller, Jerry D. Young and Moises Martinez; aunt, Juanita Martinez; uncle, Irineo Martinez.
Ed Callaway had a smile that could light up a room. Everyone who knew him, whether for a moment or a lifetime, felt the warmth of his friendship, kindness and respect. He was a strong man, always there with a helping hand for those who needed it and always listened patiently. He was never quick to judge and thought things through before doing anything. He was very loyal and always could be counted on.
Gail Mayhall, 62, of Arkoma died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Old Bokoshe Cemetery.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Truman George Cloud, 86, of Spiro died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel with burial in New Hope Cemetery.
Ester Brown, 84, of Spiro died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel.
Bobby Gene Barnes, 78, of Okmulgee, formerly of Poteau died Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, in Okmulgee. Bobby was born Oct. 18, 1935, in Anna, Texas, to Ray and Mary (Henry) Barnes. He was a truck driver. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife Doris of the home; four sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Patty Barnes of Okmulgee, Jack and Virginia Barnes of Fort. Smith, Ark., John Barnes and James Barnes of Arizona; numerous grand and great-grandchildren; brother, David Barnes of Idaho; other relatives and loved ones; many beloved friends.

Clifford Donald Israel, 80, of Spiro died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013.
Services are planned for 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel, Burial will be in Spiro City Cemetery.
Duane Roe, 67, of Poteau died Dec. 8, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark., after battling cancer. Duane was born in Casper, Wyo., Jan. 4, 1946.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, an infant son and two brothers, Kerry Roe of Casper and Kenneth Toca of Decatur, Ill.
