The Rev. Clifford C. Myers, 83, of Pocola died Wednesday, March 12, 2014, in Pocola. Clifford was born May 27, 1930 in Williams to Andrew Jackson and Nora Isabel (Byrd) Myers. He was the founding pastor of Pocola Heights Free Will Baptist Church in 1971 where he served as pastor until his death, having been a minister for 57 years, a retired truck driver, and a baseball coach. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.
Gloria Sue Mosley, 75 of Monroe died Wednesday, March 12, 2014, in Monroe. Gloria was born Aug.10, 1938, in Muskogee to Howard James and Martha L. (Jordan) Blankenship. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Jervin of the home; two daughters, Marty Martin, Gwen Vandiver; son, Frankie Dean Livingston; stepson, Steven Mosley; sisters, Judy Pannell, Karen Ann Lanston; brother, James Blankenship; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; other relatives and loved ones; many beloved friends.
Versa Wright, 89, of Muse died Friday, March 7, 2014, at her home.
Services were held Monday, March 10, at Whitesboro Baptist Church.Â Burial was in Muse Cemetery under the direction of Burkhart Funeral Service, Talihina.
Jack L. Williams, 84, of Cameron died Sunday, March 9, 2014, in Pocola.
Private services are planned.
Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau, is handling arrangements.
Lawrence Schlienz, 80, Edith Eileen Custard, 57, Jacob Custard, 21, of Whitesboro died March 3, 2014, in Whitesboro.
A memorial service will be held at noon Wednesday, March 12, at the Lenox Christ Church under the direction of Burkhart Funeral Service, Talihina.
NerrissiaÂ Skinner, 85, of Shady Point died Saturday, March 8, 2014, in Fort Smith, Ark.
Nerrissia was born April 16, 1928, in Monroe to Leon and Jesker (Hayes) Thompson. She was a bank teller at Central National Bank. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, A.V. Skinner Sr.; brothers, Kenneth, Bob and Raiford Thompson.
Gladys Mae Crosswell, 87, of Poteau died Saturday, March 8, 2014, in Fort Smith, Ark. Gladys was born Sept. 27, 1926, in Bokoshe to Charley Allen and Lottie Mae (Hendrix) Ralls. She was a homemaker. Gladys was a member of the First Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Barbara and Minnie; six brothers, Thomas, Bob, Lloyd, Bill, Buster, Donald; and grandson, Lenny.
Dawn Renea Rogers, 51, of Spiro died March 4, 2014, in Fort Smith, Ark.Â A memorial service was held Friday, March 7, at Unite Church in Spiro under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home, Spiro.
Sharon Shaw Cooper, 70, of Shady Point died Friday, March 7, 2014, in Fort Smith, Ark.
Sharon was born Sept. 24, 1943, in Poteau to Roscoe and Alburvia Shaw. She graduated from Poteau High School, attended Carl Albert State College, a computer tech school in Spiro and worked many years at Safeway stores in McAlester and Fort Smith. Sharon was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Roscoe Jr.; sisters, Mary Katherine McClain, Jane Weiler; and brother, Lewis Shaw.
Our precious little angel, Jenna Sky Ballard, was called Home by the Lord on March 3, 2014, in Holdenville. She was born on March 29, 2013, in Poteau to James and Ashley (Lockaby) Ballard. During her short time, she learned to coo, smile, laugh, play with her toys and walk. She was such a blessing and was taken way too soon but we know she is playing in Heavenâ€™s streets today.
