Joel Dwayne Hicks, 31, of Poteau died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011, in Poteau. Joel was born Nov. 11, 1979 in McAlester. Joel worked in construction. He loved to play football and golf. He loved his daughter so very much. He was saved and brought to the Lord the summer of 2010. He was preceded in death by his father, Lowell Wayne Hicks; grandparents, Lowell Dee and Atha Belle Hicks, Ray C. Babb, Iris Babb Cabe and Tom Cabe.
Albert Ernest Hall Jr., 76, of Heavener died Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at his home.
Albert served on the Carl Albert State College Board of Regents for 11 years. He was co-owner with his father of the Sinclair station in Heavener. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and Heavener Lions Club. He graduated with a business degree from the University of Oklahoma and was an avid OU fan.
Albert served seven years in the U.S. Marine Corps, retiring with the rank of lieutenant colonel.

Jerry Allen Patton, 67, of Poteau died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, in Fort Smith, Ark. Jerry was born July 15, 1944, in Lequire to James Wiley and Myrtle Pauline (Nelson) Patton. Jerry was retired from Rheem and was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served in Vietnam. He was a member of the Poteau Masonic Lodge, 32nd Degree Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Earl Patton, and stepdaughter, Trisha.
November 17th
Kenneth Burton Ford, 75, of Little Axe died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011, in Norman. Kenneth was born April 24, 1936, in Poteau to John Burton and Edith A. (Green) Ford. He was in the U.S. Marine Corps for 11 years. Kenneth was a truck driver. He worked at the docks and drove trucks. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Denver Ford and Don Ford.
November 16th
Timothy Doyle Brown, 55, of Cameron died Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, in Cameron. Services are pending under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau.
Lonnie E. Thurmon, 81, of Cameron died Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, in Fort Smith, Ark. Lonnie was born June 1, 1930, in Cameron to Joe and Martha G. (Wolliver) Thurmon. He was a mechanic.
Survivors include his four stepdaughters; two nieces, Betty Jo Shelby and Catherine Charlton; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and former wife, Sue Cole.
Services are pending.

Iva Poor, 92, of Wister died Monday, Nov. 14, 2011 in Poteau. Iva was born Feb. 28, 1919 in Wright City to Joseph Newton and Josephine (Douglas) Lloyd. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church at Summerfield. Iva was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roscoe Poor; son, Leodis Poor; sisters, Reneer Saulters, Dolly West, Robie Kinsworthy; brothers, Paul Lloyd, Utah Lloyd, Walter Lloyd.
Thomas Edward Morrison, 68, of Spiro died Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, in Fort Smith, Ark. Thomas was born Oct. 16, 1943, in Hontubby to Arthur and Elizabeth (Helton) Morrison. He was a truck driver. Thomas was a veteran of the U.S. Army and he served in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Lonnie E. Thurmon, 81, of Cameron died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2011, in Fort Smith, Ark. Services are pending with Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau.
Nan Kathryn Smith, 69, of Howe died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, in Howe. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, in Dowden Funeral Home Chapel under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home, Heavener.
