Beatrice Lewis, 92, of Spiro died Thursday, Sept. 15,
2011, in Fort Smith, Ark. Beatrice was born on Nov. 14,
1917. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at Mt.
Triumph Baptist Church, Fort Coffee. Burial will be in
Fort Coffee Cemetery. The family will be at Evans and
Miller Funeral Home in Pocola from 6-8 p.m. Thursday to
visit with relatives and friends.
Annie Lou Witt, 82, of Wister died
Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, in Wister. Annie
was born July 22, 1929, in Eufaula to Fred
and Ruby (Eskridge) Williams. She was a
restaurant cook. Annie was preceded in
death by her parents; son, Donald Adams;
daughter, Betty Adams; husband, Eschol
“Hank” Witt; three sisters and one brother.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Darrell
J. and Ginger Adams of Wister; three daughters and sonsin-
law, Carolyn and Robert Gutierrez of Belton, Texas,
Reah and George Maynor of Wister, Linda and Garry
Billy Mack Ramer, 79, of Poteau died
Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, in Talihina. Bill
was born July 31, 1932, in Red Oak to
Alvin and Ila Beatrice (McAlester) Ramer.
He was retired from Wister Schools. Bill
was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served
in the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in
death by his parents and two brothers,
Norval Ramer and Johnny McGowen. Bill loved horses
and loved to trail ride.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Barragan of Santa
Anna, Calif.; two grandsons; three sisters and brothers-inlaw,
Gail Morrison of Poteau, Sue and Ronnie Burke of

Oran Lee Ross, 80, of Cameron died Wednesday,
Sept. 14, 2011, in Cameron. Oran was born Sept. 5,
1931, in Hackett, Ark., to Glenn and Grace Ray Ross.
Oran was an engineer at Whirlpool where he retired
after 37 years. He was on the Cameron City Council for
50 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and
served during the Korean War. He was preceded in
death by his parents; wife of 56 years, Earlene Ross and
brother, Gene Ross.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Lea and
Jim Ridenour of Cameron; son, Byron Ross of Cameron;
Paul “Butch” Dora, 41, of Poteau died Wednesday,
Sept. 14, 2011.
Paul was born Aug. 12, 1970, in Corona, Calif., to Paul
Lee II and Jacqueline Wales Dora. He was preceded in
death by his grandfather, Paul Dora I; grandmother, Patricia
Wales; and step-grandfather, Raymond Bean. Survivors
include his wife, Tonya of the home; daughters, Brooke
Elizalde of Redlands, Calif., Haley Pendergrass of Poteau,
Jessica Dora of Poteau; sons, Benjamin Hammon of San
Diego, Calif., Trevor Dora of Murrieta, Calif., Jordan
Pendergrass of Poteau, William Riley Dora of Poteau,

Jerry Wayne Robertson, 61, of Cameron, Okla., passed
away Tuesday, September 13, in Camerson. Jerry was
born May 4, 1950 in Poteau, Okla. Services are pending
under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home,
Poteau.

James “Buck” Sandlin, 86, of Spiro died Sunday, Sept.
4, 2011. Graveside services were held Monday, Sept. 12,
at Spiro City Cemetery under the direction of MMallory-
Martin Funeral Home of Spiro.
Walter Gustafson, 76, of Panama died Friday, Sept. 9,
in Poteau. Walter was born Aug. 1, 1935, in Attlebord,
Mass. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at
Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau. Burial will be in New
Hope Cemetery, Spiro. Arrangements are under the direction
of Evans and Miller Funeral Home.
