Duane Edward Sweeten,
41, of Poteau died Monday,
Aug. 15, 2011 in Poteau.
Duane was born May 9,
1970, in Fort Smith, Ark.
Services will be held at 10
a.m., Saturday, Aug. 20, in
Evans Chapel of Memories,
Poteau. Burial will follow
in Fairview Cemetery,
Panama. Arrangements are
under the direction of Evans
and Miller Funeral Home,
Poteau.

Bobbie R. Hammons, 87, of Bokoshe
died Aug. 12, 2011, in Fort Smith, Ark. She
was born Sept, 6, 1923, in Kinta to John
Johnson and Dora Anna (Griffith) Adams.
She was a retired factory worker. Bobbie
Adams married Sewell C. Hammons on
December 20, 1941, in Kinta. She was a
faithful member of the First Baptist Church
of Bokoshe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved
husband; a granddaughter, Amy Rachelle Hammons; a
brother, Floyd Box; and two sisters, Pauline Trahern and
Melvina Heather.
Surviving her are three sons and daughters-in-law,

Lorna Lee Carter, 39, of Talihina, died on July 27,
2011, in Lafayette, La.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13,
at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Burial will be at the Tallant family cemetery under
the direction of Talihina Funeral Home.
Marie Faye Hendrix, 90, of McCurtain
died Aug. 10, 2011, in Fort Smith, Ark.
She was born July 30, 1921, in Bokoshe
to Elisha Elbert and Clara Angeline
(McCullar) Whitfield. She was a seamstress
and housewife. Marie was a member
of the McCurtain Eastern Star for 30 years,
and a faithful member of the First Baptist
Church of Bokoshe for more than 70 years.
She was a beloved mother, sister, grandma, great-grandma
and friend to everyone. Marie will be greatly missed by all
who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved

54, of Howe died Tuesday,
Aug. 9, 2011. Services will
be held Friday, Aug. 12, at
Dowden Funeral Home
Chapel, Heavener, with
burial following at Howe
Cemetery.

2011. Memorial Services will be conducted at a later date

James Leroy Gould, 87,
of Spiro died July 1, 2011,
in Fort Smith, Ark. Services
will be held at 10 a.m.

Spiro.
Raye Angel, 93, of Heavener died Sunday, July 31,
2011. Services will be held Friday, Aug. 5, at Dowden
Funeral Home Chapel at 3 p.m. Burial will be at
Hontubby Cemetery in Heavener. Arrangements are
under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home,
Heavener.
Anthony Leonard âTonyâ Adkins, 30, of
Poteau died Friday, July 29, 2011, in
Poteau.
Tony was born in Lawton on Aug. 8,
1980, to Alfred Leonard and Christa Marion
(Deubel) Adkins. Tony was preceded in
death by his brother-in-law, Bartley Keith
Hobson; paternal grandparents, Justus and
Lola Marie Adkins; maternal grandparents,
Erwin and Emma Deubel; uncle, Joe Diego; and aunt,
Evelyn Adkins.
Survivors include his son, Anthony A. Adkins of
Poteau; his parents, Alfred and Christa Adkins of Poteau;
sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda Sue and Scott Dollens,
Scout Wayne Kiger, 1, of Searcy, Ark.,
died peacefully in the loving arms of his
parents, Sunday, July 31, 2011.
Scout was born in Searcy on July 7,
2010, to James and Ashley Tiffee Kiger. In
addition to his parents, Scout leaves to
cherish his memory his maternal grandparents,
Jason and Ellen Tiffee; his paternal
grandparents, Jim and Cheryl Kiger; aunts
and uncles, Kerry Frazier, Jeff Tiffee, Laci Tiffee, Catherine
Kiger; other great aunts and uncles, cousins, numerous
other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the
