Harold Wayne Taylor, 73, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014 in Tulsa with his family by his side.
Harold was born Jan. 31, 1941, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Berkley N. and Flora Mae Barnes Taylor.
He grew up in Spiro. Harold joined the U.S. Army, serving from 1958 until being honorably discharged in 1962. Harold married Patsy J. Kinsey on June 23, 1962, in Panama. For most of his life, Harold worked as a machinist in the aerospace industry, retiring in 1995 from A.M.I. In his spare time, Harold enjoyed building trailers and gardening. He will be remembered best for his love for his family.
George Edward Gage Jr., 65, of Wister died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, in Wister.
George was born June 12, 1949, in Concord, N.H., to George Edward Sr. and Flora Lucille (Follansbee) Gage. He retired after working for the State of New Hampshire for more than 20 years. He was a volunteer fireman in Loudon, N.H., for 10 years. George enjoyed horseback riding and riding his Gold Wing motorcycle. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed music and playing his guitar.Â
Billy Powell, 67, of Sallisaw died Aug. 8, 2014, in Sallisaw.Â
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at First Baptist Church in Bokoshe under the direction of Agent Mallory-Martin Funeral Home, Sallisaw.
Larry D. Kable, 45, of Bokoshe died Aug. 11, 2014, in Sallisaw.
Larry was born on April 8, 1969, in Portland, Ind. He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Kable. He was the owner and operator ofÂ Larry & Leroy's Fix It All Shop in Sallisaw. He loved his family and he enjoyed fishing, riding horses, and grilling.
Darlene Lanigan, 55, of Elk City died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, in a Clinton hospital.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at First United Methodist Church in Talihina under the direction of Burkhart Funeral Service, Talihina.
RonaldÂ Butler Gates, 67, ofÂ Poteau diedÂ Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, at home.
Ronald was born June 3, 1947, in Miami, Okla., the son of Daniel John and Billie Leah Engleman Gates. He graduated from Savanna High School in the class of 1965.
He worked for the state of Oklahoma as an appeals judge for the employment office before transferring to Poteau where he worked as the office manager until his retirement in 2007.
Ronald married Nan Stanton Corder on May 20, 1980, in McAlester.
Joyce E. Mitchell, 66, of Poteau died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, in Fort Smith, Ark.
Joyce was born Nov. 16, 1947, in McCroy, Ark. to William Tobe Sr. and Georgia (Hoots) Holt. She was a postal clerk. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law, Vicki Holt; brothers, William Jr., Ed and James Holt. She was a longtime postal employee in Poteau. She was loved by many in the community for going above and beyond. She loved her children and grandchildren, traveling and the ocean. Joyce was a member of Hosanna Fellowship.
Jimmy Dale Corgill Sr., 78 of Greenwood, Ark., died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, in his home. He was retired from Union Pacific Railroad, manager of Corgill Construction, member of the Disabled American Veterans and BMAD of LeFlore County and Mount Zion Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 13, at Mount Zion Baptist Church with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be from 1-8 p.m. Tuesday from 1 â€“ 8 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m.
Robert H. Graves Jr., 72, of Poteau died Friday, Aug. 8, 2014 at his home.
Curtiss Mal Naylor, 59, of Wilburton died Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at Big Bend Hospice House in Tallahassee, Fla..
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug., at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Summerfield.
Burial will be in Reichert Cemetery under the direction of Waldrop Funeral Home, Wilburton.
