OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma City Thunder picked up their first preseason win Tuesday night at Chesapeake Energy Arena, beating the Charlotte Bobcats 120-98.
The Thunder were led by some new faces to the squad. Andy Rautins scored 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting, and Perry Jones added 17 points on 8-of-10 shoting from the field.
Kevin Durant and Eric Maynor added seven assists each, and Serge Ibaka Pulled down 10 rebounds as the Thunder easily handled the Bobcats.
My beautiful, gun-metal silver Chevrolet Z-71 truck was violated last Friday night. It had toilet paper all over, and under, it.
During my ongoing investigation with Randall Latham, “The Foothills Neighborhood Watch” president, surveillance video of the “criminals” has been discovered — Kenzie Newman.
Get this. Kenzie's grandmother, Linda Newman, was driving the getaway vehicle. What's the town of Poteau coming to when grandmothers are committing violent acts to people's trucks?
Go Bandit League teams, beat Greenwood (Ark.) White
Go Pokes, beat Iowa State.
Save the world — recycle.
The Poteau Pirates football team will try to end its two-game losing skid tonight as the Pirates entertain the Muldrow Bulldogs, coached by former Poteau assistant coach Rob Johnson, at 7:30 p.m. at Costner Stadium.
The game is a must-win contest for the Pirates (4-3 overall, 1-3 in District 4A-4 play). Poteau must win out to have a chance for postseason play.
The current Poteau Pirates freshmen football team entered Tuesday night's regular-season finale at Costner Stadium needing a win over the McAlester Buffaloes to complete a perfect 8-0 season, and complete a three-year undefeated stretch in which it went 22-0. The Pirates didn't disappoint their fans.
The Pirates scored on the opening drive and their defense had the bend-but-don't-break philosophy to keep the Buffaloes out of the end zone, as Poteau posted a 22-0 victory.
SPIRO — It will be a battle of Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. tonight at McClain Stadium as Valliant will come to town to meet host Spiro in a critical District 3A-8 contest for the local ’Dogs.
Spiro (4-3 overall, 3-1 in district play) has won three straight games in 3A-8 play, including Friday night's 45-28 win over the Heavener Wolves.

POCOLA — Last week, the Pocola Indians suffered a 40-0 loss to the Hartshorne Miners. While the game did not eliminate the Indians from the playoff hunt in Class 2A, they are in must-win situations tonight and next week.
The Indians (4-3 overall, 2-2 in District 2A-6) will need to win Thursday night against Antlers and next week in their rivalry game at Panama to get at least third place in the district — and a playoff berth. Tonight's game with the Bearcats will begin at 7:30 p.m. at John Carter Field.
While the 2012 high school football playoffs do not begin until Nov. 9, they might as well begin tonight for the Heavener Wolves football team.
The Wolves are in a must-win situation Thursday night when they travel to meet the Stigler Panthers at 7:30 p.m. for a crucial District 3A-8 contest.
The Wolves (3-4 overall, 1-3 in district play) are on a three-game losing streak after losing 45-28 to the Spiro Bulldogs on Friday night at McClain Stadium. Heavener pretty much needs to win out to make sure the Wolves are in the playoff hunt.
Youth season starts on Friday, and I have several area youths that will go with my family as I to try get a shot at a whitetail deer. We will camp for several days. Hopefully, we will have some pictures and stories to share with everyone in my column next week.

It's hard to come to the realization that things are about to end. Take a football career, for instance. Players such as Troy Aikman, Phil Simms and Chris Collinsworth, who are now National Football League analysts, probably hated to have to hang up their uniforms after their NFL careers ended.
One Poteau Pirate senior player probably knows that feeling. Senior defensive lineman Zack Hall is ready to end his prep career on a high note, which would be making the playoffs.
