The Spiro Youth Basketball League is taking sign-ups for kindergarten through fifth grade until Monday at any office at Spiro Public Schools.

PANAMA â€” The Panama Razorbacks football team wasn't quite in the playoffs with last week's home win over archrival Pocola. It took two Wilburton losses last week and Friday night to ensure a Hogs' trip to the postseason, since the Razorbacks lost their home finale 54-0 to No. 1 Vian on Friday night at George Ollie Stadium.
The Diggers lost last week to Hugo, then lost in their rivalry game with the Hartshorne Miners on Friday night to solidify Panama's trip to Okemah next week to begin the Class 2A playoffs.
POCOLA â€” The Pocola Indians were hoping to enter next week's Class 2A playoff game out Stroud with a win Friday night. It didn't happen as Mountainburg, Ark., came to John Carter Field and left 54-19 victors.
WEBBERS FALLS â€” For the last two seasons, the Arkoma Mustangs football team has ended the season with a playoff loss. In 2012, there was no playoff game, but the season still ended with a loss.
The Mustangs closed out the year with a 62-22 loss to the the Webbers Falls Warriors on Friday night.
TALIHINA â€” The Talihina Golden Tigers wanted to rebound from last week's humiliating 33-6 loss on the road against Savanna. They did so in fine fashion on Senior Night on Friday night at Doc Robinson Stadium by handling the Gore Pirates 63-42 to clinch the runner-up spot in District A-6 and a home playoff game at 7:30 p.m. next Friday against the Wewoka Tigers.
SPIRO â€” The Spiro Bulldogs came back from a 10-0 first-quarter deficit Friday night at McClain Stadium, pulling away from the Checotah Wildcats for a 26-18 come-from-behind win.
The Bulldogs (6-4 overall, 5-2 in District 3A-8) ended up in third place in the district, and will travel to meet the Hilldale Hornets at 7:30 p.m. next Friday in Muskogee.
EUFAULA â€” The Heavener Wolves football team wanted to have its second five-win season in a row. The Wolves got it, but it didn't come easy as they outlasted the Eufaula Ironheads 49-42 in Friday night's season finale.
