The good news was the Poteau Lady Pirates got one more home game this slow-pitch softball season. The not-so-good news was the visitors came and left victorious.
The Oktaha Lady Tigers led from start to finish as they defeated the Lady Pirates 5-4 Monday afternoon.
The Poteau Pirates ended the regular season in style with a 10-2, run-rule victory over the Spiro Bulldogs Monday afternoon at Town Creek Park.
The Pirates took a 1-0 lead in the opening inning on a solo home run by Blake Roley, his seventh homer of the season.
Colton Harper's RBI double highlighted a two-run second inning for the Bulldogs, who took a 2-1 lead after two innings.
However, the Pirates stormed back in the third inning with a seven-run outburst, which was highlighted by Roley's RBI double, as Poteau took an 8-2 lead after three innings.
The Poteau High School soccer teams split their home games with Westville on Monday at Costner Stadium on Senior Night.
The Pirates mercy ruled the Yellowjackets 11-1, but the Lady ’Jackets stung the Lady Pirates 3-0.
The Panama High School football team is going to have a rib sale from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 4 next to Razorback Quik Mart in Panama.

The Poteau Lady Pirates softball program will have an age 6-7 coach-pitch league beginning in May and end its season in June.
STILWELL — The Heavener High School soccer teams split their regular-season finales here Friday night with the Stilwell Indians and Lady Indians.
The Wolves capped off a perfect regular season with a 1-0 win over the Indians. The Wolves (10-0 overall, 5-0 in District 4A-6) will be idle until a home playoff game Tuesday at Harvey Stadium, which is tentatively set for 5 p.m.
The Lady Wolves suffered a 6-0 loss to the Lady Indians in a game which was a lot closer than the score indicated. They finished the season at 3-5 overall, 2-4 in district play.
There were several local winning individuals and relay teams at last week's Poteau Invitational at Costner Stadium.
On the girls' side, Poteau's Deven Bond won the 800-meter run (2:36.13), and she was a part of the winning 3,200-meter relay (10:32) with Colleen Peterson, Sheridan Hoyer and Jazmine Warren. Teammate Skyler Webster won the 100-meter hurdles (18.34 seconds), while Latifah Harris won the 400-meter dash (1:00.16).
Spiro's Kanisha Hutchinson won the long jump (15-2.5).
