CAMERON â€” The 2011-12 Cameron High School Athletic Awards Banquet took place Monday night, honoring the Yellowjacket and Lady â€™Jacket athletes for the achievements this school year.
When the Arkoma Mustangs football team had its Blue-White Scrimmage Monday night at Mustang Field, Coach Mark Weatherton saw both good and not-as-good things.
For starters, all players saw a lot of action.
â€śI was really pleased,â€ť he said. â€śWe don't have a lot of players, so we needed to get some reps â€” and we got reps. We got a chance to work on the stuff we had to work on. We didn't get any injuries. It went well.â€ť
OKLAHOMA CITY â€” Los Angeles Lakers didnâ€™t stand a chance, and I really donâ€™t think they have a prayer in this series.
The Oklahoma City Thunder came in to the second round of the Western Conference Playoffs well-rested, and the Lakers came in fresh off a grueling seven-game series with the Denver Nuggets â€” not to mention the whole Metta World Peace-James Harden incident from their previous meeting looming over this series.
The LeFlore County Coaches Association Golf Scramble will take place at 4 p.m. this afternoon at Choctaw Country Club.

A benefit T-ball tournament will take place Saturday at Cameron.
Entry fee is one new ball per game.
Teams will play three games.

The 2012 Poteau Cross Country Booster Club Running Camp will be from 8 to 11 a.m. May 23-25 at Costner Stadium.
