Sometimes when one looks at all sides of an issue, one side seems to stick out. That was verly likely the case for Scott Gregory.
Gregory, who had been coaching the Heavener Wolves for the past seven seasons, was hired at Monday night's Poteau Public Schools Board of Education meeting as the new coach of the Poteau Lady Pirates.
With the fact that Gregory lives in Poteau will make things easier for him with the new job.
However, he is also excited about just how good the Lady Pirates can be.
There was an invasion of coaches from Latimer County, Wilburton to be precise, at Wednesday's LeFlore County Coaches Association Golf Tournament, which took place at Choctaw Country Club.
Carl Albert State College Softball Coach David Holt, who is from Wilburton, along with Wilburton High School coaches Justin Lowder and Eddie Muse and WHS Athletic Director Ken Lay won the event with a 59.
The foursome of CASC Women's Basketball Coach Jeff Tadtman, Heavener coaches Russ McDonald and Bobby Pickle and CCC member Ron Murphree was second at 60.
A benefit T-ball tournament will take place Saturday at Cameron. Entry fee is one new ball per game. Teams will play three games.

The eighth annual Mark "Mud Duck" Sullivan Junior Golf Camp will take place Tuesday through Thursday at Choctaw Country Club. The camp will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday and Wednesday, while the final day of camp will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday. The camp is open to boys and girls of all ages. Entry fee is $20 per camper.
First of all, I forgot to wish my mother, JoAnn Mattox, and my wife, Jenny, a Happy Mother's Day last week. For some strange reason, I thought Mother's Day was this Sunday instead of last Sunday — I was a week behind.
Sometimes I wonder if my elevator goes all the way to the penthouse? Anyway, Happy Belated Mother's Day, ladies.
FYI — I now keep a huge calendar on the kitchen table, and write everything down so I just don't forget anything any more.
