With the regular season complete, now the Carl Albert State College softball team can focus on the next stage — the Region II Tournament.
The Lady Vikings will meet the Northeastern Oklahoma A&M Lady Norse at 1 p.m. this afternoon in the opening round of the Region II Tournament at Oklahoma City's Hall of Fame Stadium.
While the Lady Vikings' record (16-32) is not what all had hoped it would be, Carl Albert Coach David Holt believes the team is peaking.
The LeFlore County Bass Club had its latest tournament of the 2012 circuit Sunday at Potato Hills South on Sardis Lake.
There were 28 boats which had 54 anglers who caught a combined 58 fish with a collective weight of 153.11 pounds. The average fish caught weighed 2.64 pounds, with seven limits caught.
Besting the field of fishermen was the duo of “Big Bass” Bob Denton and Jason Roberts, who caught a total of 21.53 pounds of fish to earn $675.
Bucky McGee and Randy Martin were runners-up (14.98 pounds, $400), while Jason Wickware and Jody Adams came in third (13.89, $270).
