ENID — Thursday afternoon at Ival Goodman Field, the Carl Albert State Vikings split a baseball doubleheader with the Northern Oklahoma College-Enid Jets.
Although Sunday afternoon's rain at David Allen Memorial Ballpark made the two teams wait until Monday afternoon to play the second doubleheader on the season series, the outcome was the same — a split.
The Vikings took the nightcap 6-4 after losing the opener 3-1.
OKLAHOMA CITY — After getting a last-second shot by Kevin Durant to win their opening game of the 2012 NBA Playoffs Saturday night, the Oklahoma City Thunder had to hold on once again Monday night against the defending NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks.
James Harden hit four free throws in the final 26 seconds, and the Thunder had to survive two 3-point attempts by Jason Terry in the final seconds to hold on for a 102-99 victory at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
STROUD — Several Poteau High School individuals and relays won regional titles at Saturday's Class 4A Regional Meet.

Paitton Callery won the regional title in the pole vault (8-0), Jesse Woodson took first in the 100-meter dash (11.13 seconds), Dakota Clark claimed gold in the 300-meter hurdles (41.25) and Trevor Shankle was the regional champion in the shot put (46-11.75).
LUTHER — The good news was that the Pocola High School track teams had some individuals place at Saturday's Class 2A Regional Meet. The bad news was that none made state.
The individual who had the best shot at making state was Lady Indian long jumper Karolina Thorpe, who tied for sixth with a mark of 12-2. However, she did not get one of the at-large bids to the Class 2A State Meet, which will be Friday and Saturday at Midwest City Carl Albert High School's Titan Stadium.
All other Pocola placers were below sixth, which made them ineligible for at-large state berths.
