CAMERON — After a thrilling start to Tuesday night's home openers for the Eastern Oklahoma Riverdawgs Major American Legion baseball team, it ended on a down note.
After the Riverdawgs outlasted Three Rivers 7-6 in eight innings in the first game of Tuesday night's twinbill, the visitors from Wagoner held off the locals 7-5 in Game 2.
The 15th annual Poteau Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. June 25 at Wolf Ridge Golf Course. Lunch and check-in will begin at noon June 25. The entry fee is $65 per person or $130 per two-player team. Two mulligans will be available for $10, with a limit of four per team. For additional information, call (918) 647-9178.

There will be an age 12-and-younger girls softball tournament June 23 at Cameron. The entry fee is $100 per team. First- through third-place teams will receive medals.
I finally had time to take my boat to Larry at Razorback Marine in Pocola, and he has it ready to go. I will be back on the water in the next week or so. Those bass had better look out because I am going to be after them now.
Since I haven’t had a boat, I have been taking my boys and some of their friends pond hopping over the last couple of weeks. Koby, Cash, Reid Frasher, Kolton Lynn and Ethan Billings joined me on a couple of outings this week.
