SPIRO — The Poteau Lady Pirates could not be in any better shape as they enter this weekend's Broken Arrow Tournament. They are undefeated.
The Lady Pirates shut out both host Spiro (5-0) and Pocola (8-0) in a three-way Monday afternoon. The Lady Bulldogs won the Highway 9 battle with the Lady Indians by a score of 8-0.
Panama 4, Talihina 0: In Panama, Panama senior pitcher Taylor Eaves threw her second no-hitter of the season as she fanned 14 Talihina batters.
McCURTAIN — The Leflore Savages returned to their winning ways with an 11-2 road win Monday afternoon against the McCurtain Bulldogs.
Leflore had Tuesday's game at Cameron canceled due to a back-to-school bash. Leflore Coach Tony Marris said the game is trying to be rescheduled, but has not been done so at this time.
Red Oak 10, Whitesboro 0: In Red Oak, the Bulldogs suffered a two-hit shutout loss to the Eagles.
Singles by Colton Sisemore and Hunter Tidwell was all the ’Dogs could muster against Red Oak pitching.
Carl Albert State College Assistant Softball Coach Megan Young will give softball lessons at $25 per hour to girls up through age 18.
