Despite rainy conditions Friday afternoon and early evening, Poteau's three-game festival got to take place at Town Creek Park. Unfortunately, the day and evening were not good for the home team.
The Wister Wildcats got a run in the seventh inning to rally for a 5-4 win over the Pirates, who lost the first game of the day to the Jay Bulldogs by the score of 9-4.
The middle game also went to the Wildcats as Wister pitcher and Seminole State College signee Tyler Gibson struck out 14 Jay batters as the ’Cats beat the ’Dogs 8-2.
The good news was the Carl Albert State College Vikings baseball team beat Friday's rain to get its home doubleheader played against Rose State College at Ival Goodman Field. Unfortunately, the weather was the only thing the Vikings were able to beat as the Raiders swept Friday afternoon's twinbill by scores of 6-3 and 9-0.
Carl Albert's single, nine-inning game against Connors State College at Ival Goodman Field was rained out, and it has been rescheduled for 3 p.m. April 22. Also, CASC has rescheduled the road doubleheader against Arkansas Baptist for 3 p.m. next Tuesday in Little Rock.
