It's finally here — the 2013 LeFlore County Fast-Pitch Softball Tournament, which is taking place this year in Panama.
For the first time in four years (three of those since I've been here), the field for the title would appear to be wide open.
Poteau is the favorite, but may not have the cakewalk it has had in dominating the field for the last four years — and yes, that's a credit to the six seniors who graduated last spring, who never lost a fast-pitch county tournament game in their four years.
KIOWA — The Talihina Lady Golden Tigers softball team finished in third place at the Kiowa Tournament on Saturday.
The Lady Golden Tigers beat Wilburton 6-3 and Hartshorne — which opened the tournament by beating Talihina 5-4 Thursday afternoon — by a score of 8-1.
However, the Lady Golden Tigers fell to the Buffalo Valley Lady Buffaloes 5-0 in the loser's-bracket final to end up third.
