Technically, the Poteau Pirates are tri-champions of District 4A-4 with Tulsa Cascia Hall and Sallisaw. The Pirates got a big boost from one of their archrivals, the Black Diamonds, on Friday night. Wasn't pretty, but OSU routs Kansas; 1988 team honored; Barry Sanders, Trace Adkins in the house on Saturday

STILLWATER — Saturday afternoon's game at Boone Pickens Stadium had the phrase “trap game” written all over it. The weekend before, the Oklahoma State Cowboys won a big road Big 12 game against Texas Tech. This upcoming weekend is a road game at Texas, followed by a home game Nov. 23 against league-leading Baylor.
So, it might have been understandable that in Saturday's 42-6 victory, the Pokes (8-1 overall, 5-1 in Big 12 play) may have looked a bit lethargic in beating the Kansas Jayhawks (2-7, 0-6).
