CASC softball team begins season with own festival Friday, Saturday

February 14, 2014

The Carl Albert State College softball team will begin its 2014 season with its own two-day festival today and Saturday at the CASC Softball Field. The festival was to have been at the Poteau Area Recreational Complex, but had to be moved — and the field of teams reduced — due to wet fields.
Nonetheless, CASC coach David Holt is ready to get the season going, and the Lady Vikings need to get going [with our season].

Mullins, Smith take titles at Regional Automotive Service Contest at KTC

February 14, 2014

I went to the District Automotive Service Contest at Kiamichi Technology Center, where there were 36 contestants from Sallisaw, Tahlequah, Stilwell, Stigler, Atoka, McAlester and Idabel. The top three placers qualified for the state contest later this year.
In the high school division, Tahlequah's Ray Mullins won first place, with Atoka's Lucas Reece second and Stilwell's Chris Valdez third.
Idabel's Jimmy Smith won the adult class division, with Tahlequah's Robert Suarez runner-up and Stilwell's Jacob Ketcher third.
Save the world, recycle.
God bless our troops and veterans.
