Poteau teams split road games at Roland

ROLAND — The Poteau High School basketball teams split their road games Friday night against conference rival Roland. The Pirates stunned the Rangers 50-42, but the Lady Pirates fell 57-50.

WISTER — The Howe Lions used a strong second quarter to break open a close game to earn a 53-35 road win over the Wister Wildcats on Friday night at the Wister Gym.
The Lions, trailing 7-6 after a period, outscored the Wildcats 18-6 in the second quarter to take a 24-17 halftime lead. Then, the Lions outscored the ’Cats in the second half 29-18 to secure the road victory.
Panama 67, Bokoshe 55: In Panama, the Razorbacks rallied from a 37-29 halftime deficit by outscoring the Tigers in the second half 38-18 to get the come-from-behind victory.

PANAMA — A fast start enabled the Panama Lady Razorbacks to have just enough cushion to withstand rallies by the Bokoshe Lady Tigers to post a 49-42 home win Friday night at the Panama Gym.
The Lady Razorbacks jumped out to a 13-3 lead after a period, but saw the Lady Tigers tie the game at 32-all after three quarters. However, Panama outscored them 17-10 in the fourth period to get the win.
Howe 82, Wister 45: In Wister, the Lady Lions, leading 17-12 after a period, took control of the game by outscoring the Lady Wildcats 29-10 in the second quarter to take a 46-22 halftime lead.
