Weekend High School Baseball Roundup

March 17, 2014

BROKEN BOW — The Poteau Pirates split their games in Friday's three-way before heading to Florida. The Pirates run ruled the Idabel Warriors 10-2 in six innings, but lost to host Broken Bow 8-4.
In the win over Idabel, the Pirates used an eight-run first inning to blow the game open.
In the loss to Broken Bow, the Savages scored four runs in the first inning and three in the second for a 7-0 lead.
Kaydon Evans' grand-slam home run in the third inning cut Poteau's deficit to 7-4, but that was as close as the Pirates got.
